Re: Good Morning

Evening all. Been busy today and the day has flown by, just getting paperwork sorted and other boring stuff I put off as long as possible.

Been horrid weather today, drizzly and miserable.

Afternoon all. It was lunch club today roast pork with all the trimmings followed by lemon pie and cream. Had a large plateful it was a stuggle but I did clear my plate. Too full up to move so taking a rest with my feet up in my recliner coffee and my book. Gordon offered me a coffee back at his flat but I was too full up.

Re: Good Morning

Evening all *bends knees*

Miserable wet day. The constructin company Kier, Sanctuary Housing and the new landscaping company had a site meet today. They made an appointment to call in and see my flooded garden, I told them I had a hospital appointment at 2 but wouldnt be long, they said they'd drop in and if I was out they'd make another appointment. Well I went to the hospital for the mammogram (mobile unit in car park) and got back and they were still milling around. An hour after they all cleared off and still hadn't been to look at my garden. I am not amused.

pffft....  Today was the perfect day to see it as its been raining and the lawn is under water.  They'll probs come back when we've had a dry spell. Like they normally do.

On a brigher note, my full fibre will be ready to use on 24th January. I didnt go for the fastest as it's too expensive so went for the medium one, 150mbps (I get 19 at the moment on a good day). It will be super to be able to watch prime video and catchup without the spinning wheel of death.

Hope everyone has a lovely evening.

Re: Good Morning

The funeral went well apart from the fact the whole place was so dusty . Set my sinuses off. Pam was a very dignified lady at the club but apparently was very unconventional granny. She used to go skate boarding at 70 and playing football and side swiping her grandson. There were some nice hymns and the vicar wittered on as vicars do. The service lasted about 1 1/2 hours as usual the organ deafened everyone which was a shame as you couldn't hear the hymns. Refreshments were served in the church. Tea and biscuits, we didn't stay because there was no where for me to sit. We went off  for tea and a cake. The first place we tried we couldn't park near. The second place had stopped serving food and the third place, the village pub had sold out of cakes.  So we settled on a pensioners fish and chips and apple pie and custard and very large coffees. So no cooking tonight and can barely move so stuffed.  We get to do it all over again tomorrow another funeral at a small church near the village. I'm expecting this one to be very different.

Re: Good Morning

Good morning everyone.

Its a bright day here. Some sun, some blue sky, some cloud.

I've got the hairdresser today.

Our shower stopped working yesterday. I turned it on ready to jump in and a small amount of water came out and was very hot.  Its not been that long since it was replaced.

Re: Good Morning

Afternoon all.

BT were out at 8am this morning to pull my fibre through the ducting outside from the new hub to the bungalow, then another engineer will be here next week to install the outside and inside boxes to join the 2 fibre cables together. The service will be live Friday 24th January. They're giving me a new phone number too as I have so much hassle with the one I've had since living here. Its an ex taxi number so you can imagine what it's like. pffft.... I'll then have to notify everyone what the new number will be.

Then today my seat covers came for the new car, they just sit on the seat with an elastic strap that goes round the back and a disc that pushes inbetween the back and seat. They're very dinky and will do the job perfectly. The seats are cream so not very servicable. It was under £20 for both the front seat covers.

I've  had an order for a custom fairy, that I'll start next week, they dont want it til the first week of February so no rush. And I've got to do the adventure graphics for the Twitter XPets thing for this Sunday. I've run out of ideas!

Weather's been lovely today, with sunshine and no rain, the ground is still sodden though. Just about to feed my furries and get some dinner.

Hope you all had a good day today. Dani is the necklace and bracelet an order for someone or just one you fancied making?

Starry sending good luck vibes for your mum's operation. Carol hope the funeral tomorrow is better, an hour and a half for a service? Blimey! Diane hope they fix your shower. I remember you having problems with it before and getting a new one installed. There must be something causing them to go wrong, one is understandable but 2 in a row is a bit suss isnt it.

Re: Good Morning

Second funeral over and what a difference!  Parking is very difficult but fortunately there was a parking place right outside the Church. The church was warm, clean and absolutely full.  Betty had a very large extended family. The music was by James Last and could be clearly heard.  No hymns, just prayers and memories.  A short history of Betty and her late husband and  a few more prayers. We were all invited back to the village pub for refreshments. Although we were one of the last to leave we managed to get a parking spot in the pub car park. The family went to the cemetary for the burial. A few of us went to the pub. They laid on a beautiful spread and gave their Mum a good send off. She would have been so proud.  We were welcomed in and treated like family.  They weren't posh like yesterdays lot, but what my Mum would call rough diamonds. Her two sons came over and sat with us for a couple of hours. Lots of memories of Betty were exchanged. Her eldest son on finding out that we used to run the lunch club said on behalf of Betty he would like to pay for every one's  next lunch at the club. He handed me a roll of notes. When we got back I counted it £100. That will pay for two lunches for everyone. So kind and very generous.  Betty had told him all about us and how we had looked after her. We had tried not to have favorites but.........
