Re: Good Morning

Good Morning all. Wild, wet and windy here today, another day in for me.  Got half of the mountain of clean clothes away yesterday, am learning to pace myself at last. Will hopefully finish off today.  No one needs as many clothes as I've got!  Unless their weight is going up and down like mine is. Had to cancel my planned visit to x- ray, the town was gridlocked. Will be going Thursday lunchtime instead - it's a walk in clinic. Haven't heard from Gordon yet so I assume maybe wrongly, he's still in his bed or chair where ever he slept last night. Have a good day all.

Re: Good Morning

Good morning everyone, wild and windy here this morning. I had to go to get my BP checked yesterday and it was sky high so they told me to check it twice a day for a week and then take the readings back. Well when I checked in the afternoon it had shot up to 200/100. When I checked it this morning it was 197/99. So I rang the surgery and they fitted me in at 9.30am this morning. The doc took it again and it was still high,

Doctors put me on a low dose of BP meds to lower it, I have to keep a record still every day for the next 3 weeks then go back and see him on 4th Feb for a review.  Doc said the tablets won't start to work properly for 3 to 5 days, as they need to build up, but said I should see a slight improvemnt when I check my BP this evening. So still stressed out which isn't helping.

No wonder I'd not been feeling well for a while.  I panicked a bit as both my parents had heart attacks and dad had a stroke. I am on Statins though.

So now I am seriously going to cut out carbs to get back down to a reasonable weight, and make the effort to walk a bit each day.

You've been really busy today so far Starry. Well done! I got exhausted reading your post LOL
Annie hope Gordon's ok and hope your cousin improves and you get your telly sorted.

Re: Good Morning

Hello everyone.

An early start for me to catch the fast bus into Truro for a facial. It was dry when I woke up and was raining when I left the house. I took the big umbrella and struggled to keep it up in the wind. The bus was a bit late and I was ready to walk home and give up as it was getting bad. Got on the bus and it was getting worse and worse and I'm wondering what I'm doing there. But as we got near Truro it eased off a bit. Had a lovely facial and then caught the bus back. I still seemed to have eased off until we got near Bodmin and I'm wondering whether to get a taxi if there were any free because its school time and it didn't seem too bad so walked back. The rain wasn't that bad but the wind was. I was glad to get indoors.

Re: Good Morning

Good Morning all.  Sally I thought about you last night knew it would be bad at your end. Was there any flooding?   No news of the caravan so hopefully it will be fine. The storm kept me awake wind whistling under the eaves and continual thumps.  The remains of the ancient woodland at the back of me were creaking and swaying I was worried that one of them would fall on bungalow or garage. No doubt there will be some branches down.  Not going out today, chores for me at least it will keep me warm and occupied.  Have a good day all.

Re: Good Morning

Good morning everyone.

Its dry and bright here today, A lull before it all sets in again.

Hubby had a regular check up appointment at the doctors today so that took a lot of scrabbling round to get there on time. Clothes sorted yesterday .. coat .. shoes. All gone today!! These supposedly easy things turn into a mammoth task. Does my head in.

Anyhow... back now and sorting house out for cleaners for a quick lunch.  Some washing out on the rotary blowing around.

Re: Good Morning

Good morning everyone.

Its wet and windy here again today. Horrid day.

We've got food shopping and that's our lot for today.

The plumber came last night and fitted the shower so all's well with the world again.... for a bit!!

Re: Good Morning

Good Morning all, cold but sunny so far. Having my chest x - ray at lunch time. Then going out to lunch so no cooking today. Brodie's cough is getting worse it looks as though he has westie lung disease ( Fibrosis ),  He has seen the vet and said his lungs sound fine. No crackles.  She also said at 13 most of them have got a touch of.  If is gets worse he will have x- rays and  if CT agree he will have treatment.

Re: Good Morning

Good afternoon all.

Had to see doc as an emergency yesterday as I had terrible side effects from those BP tablets, bp shot up to 200/100 again. He just said, 'Oh sorry I seem to have made you worse'  pffft.... Never felt so ill in my life. So he's given me a different type and told me to take it before bed. I rang 111 last night to check if I should take it so soon after the one I'm allergic to as it will still be in my system and they said definately not. They asked if my doctor had taken bloods to see what was causing the high bp and I told them he hadn't they weren't happy about that. They said he shouldnt be treating bp when he's not tried to find out whats causing it. They said if I felt worse to dial 999 but I wasn't too bad all night. And today I feel a bit better, still not right, but not as bad.

Got horrible wind and rain here.

Carol sorry to hear Brodie's still got that cough, it could be something that's going around. A few pals on Twitter have mentioned their dogs have coughs too, and Gizmo's had one for over a month. He's on his second lot of antibiotics. It is slightly better I think, but then one day it'll be worse again, it's really odd. I've had to cut out giving him biscuit in his meals and just give him soft wet dog food instead. I think that's helped more than the antibiotics.

Re: Good Morning

Thanks Diane

Good morning everyone, looks like the worst of the weather has blown away down here there's a lovely blue sky this morning.

I'm pleased to say I had 6hrs sleep last night and no side effects, although I was extremely wheezy when I woke up but soon cleeared, and still had a few chest pains but not sure if that wasnt due to stress rather than the ones I had with the side effects. pfffft... So hopefully things are improving. My bp this morning was about the same as it was last night but at least it wasn't sky high. And my pulse was lower. So all in all things are getting better at last.

Not much on the cards today, will get round and do some chores, I've got to make space in the hobby room for the BT man next friday when he comes to fit the fibre boxes. For some reason thought it was today, but so pleased it isn't

Keep warm and dry everyone! And enjoy your w/end. xxx
