Re: Good Morning

Good morning all

Breezy and bright here today.

Asda are coming later this morning with my shop, then I have to take Gizmo to the groomers for 2.30 so will call in on Angela, my friend from Twitter, and have a gossip and coffee. We're starting our weight loss regime this week, so will be supporting each other's loss/gains over the next 12 months. We both need to get down to 12stone as we're both porkers.

Had to go to nurse yesterday for bp and bloods, but after taking my bp she had to call the doctor in, thankfully it was my own doctor, Dr Brown. She's very good. She had looked at my history and wasn't amused the previous 2 doctors I had deal with this had given me the meds they had. She has given me a diuretic and said to go back in 2 weeks for another bp check. My own home monitor was at least 30 out, so it was reading my bp lower than it was, so had to order an Omron wrist monitor from Amazon but just missed the next day deadline, so it wont be here til tomorrow. When I collected my pills from the pharmacist he said I should still monitor my bp because these water pills won't lower my bp for about 3 to 4 days and as it's 187/98 now it needs careful monitoring. You get different advice from different people. Pffft

So I'm gonna stock up on the Tena and keep my fingers crossed these tablets do the trick. I've had a terrible headache the last couple of days and pains in my head and chest so I'm hoping that's just stress as I've been really really stressed the last 2 or 3 weeks with all this. Which hasn't helped.  Had shocking cramp in the night in my left calf, haven't had cramp for years but I felt a bit cold in bed for some reason and that usually starts it off. So hopping around the bedroom and into the bathroom, Lily the cat who sleeps with me woke up and looked at me as if I'd gone loopy.  So now I've got a really sore calf muscle and limping on that leg. Honestly they'd shoot me if I was a horse lol

Re: Good Morning

Good Morning all - cold today. Brrrrrr!  I was expecting Gordon to be finishing off some work today. Had a phone call at 8.30 this morning to say that he wouldn't be coming as he's poorly. He'd been up most of the night with a tummy bug. Now is aching all over feels like he's got a cold so he's gone back to bed.  He's been seeing a  chinese accupuncture guy, when he went yesterday there was a notice closed due to illness. I jokingly said perhaps he'd had the dreaded Corona virus.  Nothing on the news to say we have a case down here but you never know. Not sure what I'm going to do today. It's far too cold to continue sorting out the sunlounge. Might have a delve into the larder , see what's lurking in the bottom. I've got a load of clothes to put away so I might start there. Have a good day all.

Re: Good Morning

Hello everyone.

Another early fast bus to Truro for my facial.

Its sunny here but very windy and bitterly cold. The thermometer doesn't say its that cold but it felt bitter walking back this afternoon.

Hope the doctor sorted your medication out Hazel. Its been going on for too long. Its no good going back every so often but it should be dealt with.

How funny you should say about a Chinese acupuncturist. I was chatting to my sister in law at the weekend and talking about the virus she said I don't suppose you get many Chinese down your way .... and I said no ... but then when I went to the Indian Head Massage last week, the lady that did it was called Hong ... and I thought she looked Chinese!!!!

Re: Good Morning

Good morning all. There was a fabulous sunrise this morning and I took some photo's with my phone when I took the dogs out. The weather chap on Radio Cornwall said it normally means 'shepherds warning' but not today as we have high pressure and it's going to be a good day, infact every day will be good until Saturday afternoon when it all changes for very windy and wet weather. Pffffft

No effects felt yet from the water tablets. but I'm beginning to feel slightly better thank goodness. I expect the other drugs are all out of my system now.

Took Gizmo to the groomer yesterday and while he was there went to see my friend Angela, we only had an hour but managed to cram in lots of things to talk about and enjoy a Bueno bar and a mug of coffee. Then after tea (dinner) my friend Rob came over with some cardboard to pack the Ezbed up as I sold that yesterday on Ebay. It's one of those electric ones with a metal expanding frame and air mattress. I was given it a few years ago, it was brand new, it was taking up valuable room so decided to get shot of it. It will be picked up today by the courier and in Pembrokeshire in 48hrs time.

Rob brought a huge bouquet of flowers he'd bought in Asda, must have cost a fortune, as there's flowers of every type in it. Really lovely. I hope he's not getting any ideas LOL  I was grateful for his help wrapping the ezbed, even if he was a bit useless, plus bringing the cardboard. I didnt really want to buy packaging as I only sold the bed for £75 and that included the courier, so really only got £55 for the bed. But it's out of the way.

We have a few Chinese down here, mainly in the takeaways, but not a lot really. There's probably a lot at Exeter Uni but that's quite a few miles from me. We have one Chinese or Cantonese takeaway in the village, and there's also a few of takeaways in Bodmin, St Austell and Newquay but they're all about 12 miles away. You rarely see a Chinese person here in Cornwall, they don't seem to go out and about much like Europeans.

Re: Good Morning

Good Morning all. The sun is shining and it's a nice crisp day to enjoy.  Gordon sounds a lot better but no where near OK yet.  There is a fish and chip lunch on Friday at the flats and he asked me if I wanted to go. He's hoping to go, but if not I'll take his food up to him. I'm hoping to do a bit of sorting out today. I'm feeling ruthless so hopefully will get rid of quite a few things. I've got far more than I need.
We've got loads of chinky take a ways and quite a large population of chinese. Indian take a ways abound as well.. We appear to have a large immigrant population in our area. Have to watch Rob Hazel seems to me he fancies you - flowers how nice sounds a nice man.

Have a good day all.

Re: Good Morning

Hello everyone.

Been one of those days!!

Paul was coming to fit the towel rails today ... and he did thankfully (only had them since June) Very nice they are looking too. Tightened some screws on a toilet cistern (hadn't realised they just needed tightening otherwise I could have done it myself, had some lunch and went off. Then the cleaners arrived.

Its been a sunny day here. Managed to get the hall and bathroom mats all washed so they are nice and clean.

Re: Good Morning

Morning all lovely day again here so far.

Will be pottering around indoors today, I do feel a lot better but can't say I'm rushing to the toilet all the time which I thought I would do taking water tablets. Maybe they don't affect me pffft....

Went to the docs yesterday and bp down to 165/86 so it's better than it was but still too high. So I think the tablets may be working, I'm only on my 4th day today. Got to go back in 2 weeks for bp and kidney function blood tests. Also mentioned what I think is a small hernia on my middle, had a lump there for a couple of years, can only feel it when I shower and press in, but the last few days its been really painful. I did overstretch the other day in the hobby room to lift down a heavy box so I'm guessing that's what it is. The doctor wasn't so sure and is making an appointment for me to have an ultra sound. So something else to stress over now pffft.

Carol Rob would like to be more than friends but I'm not interested, I've told him straight I prefer us as friends where we can help each other out but nothing more. He is a kind person bu the's also the most annoying one and in too many ways to compromise. I couldn't live with him I'd end up murdering him. lol

He did send me some valentines flowers but can't remember when think it was  the year before last. Red roses. I dried them and kept them for ages, not because he gave them to me but they kept their colour well and looked lovely.

Enjoy your day folks.

Re: Good Morning

Evening all. Had a really rough day today.  Brodie was taken ill last night. Just after we went to bed. I was reading when he suddenly jumped up and ran into the hall. When he came back he was frightened and couldn't settle and was panting and twitching. Then he asked to go out, so I let him out and he just walked aimlessly back and forth. He eventually came in and demanded supper which he'd already had. Then he went out into the garden. I had to put him outside 4 times in all. It was so cold, I was frozen so then couldn't sleep. Come 4 am he was whimpering and trying to jump up on the bed. I couldn't get him to settle he was in such a state. In the end I fell asleep with my arm hanging over the bed touching his head.  I slept for a couple of hours.  He ended up in the bathroom. We saw cara my vet. His pulse rate was 60 instead of 120. He was given an ECG which wasn't too good. She also ran a full panel of bloods they were good. She mentioned Cushings and Addisons. I thought of you and Bonnie. However she gave him an injection and his pulse rate rose to 108. This was good news. She said he is Bradicardiac. It's  either caused by Westie Lung or a heart  problem. He's now got to have an x ray to check his lungs. If it's WLD then it's an inhaler and if it's a heart problem he will probably need a pacemaker, which she doesn't think is justified in view of his age and that  CT is only a small charity and it's well over a £1000. We're in Limbo now. The injection is wearing off and he's beginning to pant again.  I've got to keep him calm - easier said  than done.  He's asking for his supper so will let him out and feed him when he comes in. Fingers crossed we both get some sleep.

Re: Good Morning

Good morning everyone.

Its a dry reasonable day here today.

We are off food shopping later and that will that it for the day.

We had a lovely trip out yesterday. The journey there and back was gorgeous on its own. All over the moors. Then we wandered round Tavistock, had some lunch and sat in the sun for an hour. It was lovely and sunny but very chilly. But where we were sitting was protected and it felt like spring.

Hope Brodie can be sorted Annie
