Re: Good Morning

Good morning ladies.

I had a busy day yesterday, mowed the huge back lawn, got Larry the robomower out of hiberenation and changed his cutting blades, connected up his electrics, so now he will come out at noon and start cutting the grass and finish his shift at 5.30pm.  Its a huge help. We're in for a few wet and windy days from tomorrow, so I'll switch him so he doesnt get clogged up with wet grass.

I see we may be in for a heatwave over Easter. That'll be nice! Something to cheer us up.

Enjoy your day all.

Our gardens will be pristine the amount of time we'll have free to be in them.

Re: Good Morning

Good afternoon all. A dry cold day here. Gordon has been cleaning his flat and packing.  He's coming over this evening and will be staying for the forseeable future. He's got a mountain of stuff he's bringing with him. God only knows where it is going. It will be a bit chaotic until we we sort everything out. Ground rules have been laid down. All chores are shared including cooking and cleaning. We will each do our own washing. He is in charge of the tumble dryer, which is in the garage. We each have a remote for the TV - that should be interesting! Going down to the caravan tomorrow to bring back my tassimo coffee. Got it on Amazon half price I bought loads.. Don't want to run out! We've also got tins that we didn't use last year - all still in date Night as well have those at home. Take care and stay safe. xx

Good morning everyone.

Its a damp day here today.

We'll be doing some housework!!!!! What fun .

That was good you got everything in your online shop Starry.   I'm waiting to see what I get in mine on Friday. I went in to add some items and the long life milk had been taken off.

Re: Good Morning

Good morning everyone.

Well sounds like we're all accepting that stayin in is the safest bet. It wont make much difference to me as my routine won't change lol

I'm so glad I bought little bits extra every week since Christmas.
Starry thats amazing you got everything you needed. When I had a small weekly shop delivered this week there were a lot of things not available/out of stock. I did get 4 subs, one being chicken livers instead of lambs. I was going to make lamb liver and gravy with onions and mash for dinner last night but couldn't. I used the chicken livers instead to make pate. I didn't have double cream but did have greek yoghurt (full fat) in the fridge so used some of that. Picked some fresh rosemary from the garden and an onion. With salt and pepper to taste. And lastly a dollop of Crofts Original sherry. It made half a dozen small pots which are going in the freezer today. The bit that was left I sampled last night and it is superb! I used to make pate years ago but not made any since. So the substitute wasn't wasted after all.

oooh CAROL, tinned food can last indefinately, years and years as long as the tin isnt badly dented or rusty. The other things that last indefinately are dried pasta and rice. And UHT milk unopened can last donkeys years if kept cool (not necessarily refrigerated) as it's sterilised and has no bacteria in it to decay.

Keep safe ladies!

Re: Good Morning

Good morning everyone.

Its a damp day here today.

I want to keep up with the washing and then nip out for a walk. If its drizzling it will be a quick one round the block.

Our houses and garden will be so tidy we won't know ourselves.

Every the I feel warm I feel a bit of a panic - but it has been warmer lately. Last night my throat started feeling scratchy and again, another pain ... but an hour later nothing, nor this morning. Gosh!!!!!

Re: Good Morning

Good morning ladies

Starry how kind of your daughter to go to all that trouble, she's a saint. Pretty shocking to hear all those areas out of the basics. At least some stores now are opening early just for over 70's, that's ok for the mobile ones, but all the housebound folk are still left in a pickle.

Diane, I know how you feel, i'm the same. And I've been fighting off a mild cold for a couple of weeks or more now, runny nose and tingly up the nostrils, nothing else though. I keep wondering is this is a mild dose of the virus. It's when I get a feverish hot flush like you say, Diane, you wonder if it's the virus.  We'll all be hypochondriacs at this rate come Easter lol

It's drizzly here today, so can't get outside to do any gardening, had to leave Larry switched off (robomower) he can cut in the rain but I don't want him to get all clogged up with grass clippings so he's off duty til we get a fine day. Let's hope that'll be at the weekend.

Carol what's Bodmin like? I mean is it partially deserted or are people still going about as normal?

That friend that took me to hospital is supposed to be coming back to Bodmin this week. I have blocked him on my phone and Whatsapp as he was very nasty to me by txt the other week. He's been in Nottingham socialising and going to pubs and football matches, and not taking any precautions, then said he when he comes back he would come round and help me eat my rations as he's not bothered getting anything in for himself. I said politely I was self isolating and wouldnt be seeing him as he's not been taking any precautions, and he was really really nasty. Saying I would die of the virus before him and no-one would find me, and said he hoped I'd made arrangements for the pets when I die. So I blocked him. If he does come around I won't open the door. He's a nasty horrible person. I know he took me to the hospital but he's usually a very selfish person making use of people, narcisstic, knows better than anyone else and doesnt know anything, enjoys belittleing people, and gets a kick out of making you feel small and knocking your confidence. I did tolerate it as I didnt have anyone else to help in an emergency if I needed it, but now I'd rather struggle on my own than put up with him and get upset, and more importantly risk catching the virus. When I told him I didnt want anything to do with him due to his attitude and nasty remarks he sent a text saying "F**k off then"  So better off without someone like that.

Re: Good Morning

Sounds like a thoroughly horrible person Hazel. You are well rid of him.

We've been walking but I haven't been into Bodmin so haven't a clue what's going on. We just walked up to Launceston round roundabout, down the main road and back through the park.

Our son said that people were saying that troops were evident mobilising in various places already.

Re: Good Morning

Good morning everyone. Hope you're all fit and well.

Diane, the troops have been notified but they are only going to be doing jobs like driving ambulances, taking the bodies to the main morgues that have been set up, getting supplies to the elderly and that kind of thing. They won't be patrolling the streets like they do in Italy and other countries. Not unless people are looting shops. There's not much traffic along the main road, I usually hear it if the wind's in the right direction but there's just the odd lorry or motorbike now, and the thrum of the traffic on the A30 is a lot less too.

I wish Boris would shut the pubs and clubs, the youngsters are taking no notice whatsoever to social distance and still going out and clubbing or drinking in pubs, thinking they're invinsible, when of course they're not. They're putting their own families and hundreds of others at risk. Something needs sorting out about them as they're putting us all at risk. No point anyone staying in if they're going to carry on as normal. pfffft

It's going to be a dry day today so Larry has been switched on and will start his shift cutting the grass at midday. I know he's just a machine, but there's something comforting about him going about his work. lol

Not sure what I'll be doing today not made my mind up yet.
