Re: Good Morning

Carol I sent those tensioners off about 10 days ago 1st class so you would have got them the next day. Can you let me know if they've arrived or not? Its a large A5 envelope with a printed postage label on the front.

Hi Hazel Gordon got them out of the postbox on the 25th, so I was able to open them today. Thank you for sending them.
My gardener emptied the car yesterday, thankfully most of it went in the shed. Just a few things came inside.  I've now got a box in the car, and am going to start loading the car for a nearby food bank which will take anything except electricals.

Today has been disappointing as we've got very little done, Gordon has slept for most of the morning and half the afternoon.  He's cooking the pizza from Asda and will then either watch tv or go back to sleep. He is not controlling his diabetes that's what's causing his tiredness. He won't take any notice of anything I say so I've given up.

Re: Good Morning

I'll write this now instead of in the morning LOL
I've been busy planting up the front garden, and all I have left to plant now is 3 peonies when they arrive, 3 lilacs (only one going out front), and in March some perennials are arriving for the long rose bed. Tomorrow I have 4 slabs coming to make the hard standing for my new wheelie bin shed and thursday gravel is being delivered to fill in a small area at the end of the path that did have soil in but a stupid little area that is no good for planting. So putting gravel there instead. Gizmo's got his groomers appointment tomorrow so I'm hoping the slabs arrive before I leave.

Weathers turned cold now hasn't it. brrr....

Starry I wonder how they step children have decorated the tree LOL Sorry to hear Gordon still doesn't control his diabetes, it must be very frustrating for you, he's lucky he doesnt get any serious problems with it.

I put the xmas lights and laser lights in the front garden today took ages to put the rice lights on the young birch tree I'm afraid they're going to stay on it now untl they go wrong lol When it got dark I turned them all on and really pleased with the effect, the 2 deer look amazing stood near the tree lit up. Then there's the snow flake projectors throwing snowflake shapes on the fence behind them. The laser lights I've aimed at next door, well the one opposite, I face the end of that one, so my gardens quite private at the front. I've taken some pics but need to host them somewhere to show them on here. Thats the problem with a free forum, you can't do much with it.

Well time for bed, so will say night night and stay safe everyone xxxx

Re: Good Morning

Good evening all. We're doing a bit of sorting out each day of the caravan items. We went back today to get the lawnmower and the few remaining bits and pieces. I wasn't very happy to find the lawnmower had gone. It appears one of the workmen helped himself as it was thought we no longer coming back. There were some bottles of cleaning products were also taken.  One of Brodie's dog coats and his treat jar were also gone. The men had been in to get rid of any rubbish and to check the van was safe.
The cleaner had also cleaned the van prior to being possibly sold. I did report it to Nick as I'd promised to give the lawnmower to a neighbour. We loaded the car with a large plant, two bags of compost and some kitchen equipment and left for the last time. I was glad and yet sad to leave. I shall miss it next year.My gardener has finished the garden, he's made an excellent job of it. He's now going to be tidying the shed and the greenhouse. My last gardener used to open the shed door and throw things in and he never cleaned any tools. Sally whilst we drove down there was some hail as we were getting near Birdham.

Re: Good Morning

Good morning everyone.

A bright sunny day but very frosty here.

Woke up to sad news that Sue's Barney has died in the night. I say sad, but he is in a better place now.

Re: Good Morning

Good Morning all. It's very cold but dry today. My gardener has finished my garden and is now tidying the shed and greenhouse. Pity the bungalow isn't so good! Gordon does what he can as do I, but our knees are definitely letting us both down. I'm busy looking for my wine glasses from the caravan, think they might be at the flat. We were going down this afternoon but can't seeing it being possible today. Have a good day all.

Re: Good Morning

Afternoon ladies. Finally have a breather from making masks, dogs bow ties and bandanas and tuxedos. phew!  The post is shocking lately, the PO say it's because more people are sending things and buying online and staff off sick with covid or flu or self isolating. I think most sales online are delivered by courier so think they're fibbing a bit about that. One order took almost 3 weeks to get to Ireland, posted first class mail.

I've finally finished the garden planting apart from 3 lilac trees to go into containers for the pation, 2 Daphne for the front and a yellow rose and lavender to go in a large round container out the front next to the wheelie bin store. I put slabs down last week and gravell around ready for the bin store to stand on it's coming next Tuesday. It's treated with weatherproof stain but I have some silver birch shed paint to paint it with, so it blends in with the fence more, which is a sort of sliver birch colour. I've planted hundreds of bulbs in the front and back garden and also treated myself to 3 peoonies for the flower bed at the back where the hearthers were last year. I planted 200 dwarf iris that will be in bloom jan/feb too. I can't wait to see it when everything starts to come up. There are containers all along the front of the bungalow on the gravel area under the windows with spring bulbs in and also hardy geraniums for the summer, and a couple of terracotta pots by the front door with pink raggedy petal tulips and muscari in.
The garden at the front is illuminated at night, with lazer snowflakes going across the side fence (6ft fence) the birch tree at one end of that fence has rice seed white fairy lights strung in it, and the 2 LED lit reindeer are on that side too, then on the fence opposite my windows which is the boundary to the bungalow that is side on to me, I have the red and green laser lights. It looks stunning at nigh even if I do say so myself LOL  There are some awful gawdy flashing lights on some of the bungalows. Not many of us have put lights up outside, only about half a dozen.
I put my little fibre optic xmas tree up yesterday with a new bulb. The second bulb in 29 yrs. And I have a couple of strings of multi coloured rice seed fairy lights on the window wall. Thats it as far as indoor decorations go. I wasnt going to bother with the tree, but had second thoughts.
Carol will the park owner sell your caravan or do you sell it? I've toyed with the idea of getting a static caravan for the summer somewhere, but can't see that I'd get enough use out of it really. Especially now with Covid when travel is restricted.
Although saying that a lot of tier 3 people are coming down here for xmas. A lot of the holiday accommodation places are not letting them book, but there are quite a few that are encouraging them.
I can see us in a higher tier after xmas as the ones that come down here dont and wont wear masks and wont social distance, and if anyone suggests it to them they get aggressive.
I've made my Christmas order with Asda which comes on 22/12. Didn''t go for a turkey being on my own, so got their 3 meat carvery pack, which is on x 500g of turkey breast, beef and gammon. Supposed to be for 2 people, but it'll do me 2 or 3 days. I prefer the boxing day meal of leftovers more than the actual xmas dinner anyway.
Well thats about all my news, sorry its so long. Still got loads to tell ya all but never mind. Maybe save it for the next time
Stay safe my dears. xxx

Re: Good Morning

Good afternoon, it's very cold here today. Thanks, Sally, a very different birthday yesterday had some nice cards and pressies and phone calls. Gordon cooked a special Chinese meal which was delicious. Not so pleased about the huge pile of washing up that he left for me! Been rushing around to get the kitchen clear and ready for my shopping delivery. Thankfully Sally got most of the things I wanted  Gordon has managed to injure his knee and is in a great deal of pain, he can hardly stand. He carried the shopping in for me and I had to disinfect it working on the principle rather be safe than sorry. I've now to put it away, a chore I hate. We've now got all the Christmas goodies apart from the Three bird roast I was hoping to have on Christmas day.  I've got a joint of beef so if all else fails I can cook that.   We normally go out with members from a club that we belong to but that has been cancelled. In lieu, we are being given a Christmas dinner and wine from Parsley box instead. We did try them once and were not impressed, it was nothing like what was on the box and not much of it. The wine was disgusting. I suspect we'll be putting that on the sales table at the flat, some of the elderly residents actually like it., so someone will be happy.  My Christmas cards are going to be late they're in the dining room, out of reach behind a huge pile of items from the caravan. The invalid has just woken up so I'd better shift my stumps and make him a cuppa.  Stay safe and keep warm.
