Good morning everyone. Another damp day but we've just had a rainbow. Need to go food shopping but need to wait for fruit and veg delivery first.

Evening all. We went down to the caravan to do our final check for the year. We'd booked a Christmas dinner at our favourite eatery. When we got there it had turned into a Christmas party with 14 of us. It was lovely and they pulled out all the stops, The meal was excellent. We ended up with coffee and one of their mince pies - best I'd ever tasted. The lovely Lorraine gave us a box of their mince pies. Gordon took them to the flat and when I spoke to him he was on the second one and intended having more. Hope he saves me some. On the way home we called into a charity shop with a large bag of donations for them. Gordon bought a set of 18 books by my favourite author. 30p each. Despite saying I had too many books I bought six more. Very tired tonight so will have an early night and read until I fall sleep. Lots to do tomorrow.

Good morning everyone. Its dry here at the moment. Paul & co are on their way over for an early lunch / early tea then see the lights at Eden Project. Just hurrying round hiding stuff that needs to be hidden.

Good Morning all. Had an extra hour or so in bed this morning and when I finally woke up I'm very stiff and in a lot of pain. I think this is now my new norm. Sally that's a huge amount of shopping to put away, hope it all comes. You'll certainly be busy with all that preparation rather you than me. Christmas is a lot of work but very enjoyable.. I'm out on Christmas Day so no working for me. I'm cooking on Boxing Day using my big slow cooker and a liner. Very much bung it all in and leave it to get on with it. Hardest bit will be making the dumplings. I've never cooked them in a slow cooker before so will hedge my bets and make two lots one in a saucepan and the other in the slow cooker. If we've got room there will be an old fashioned trifle.
Sally we're in the village tomorrow having yet another Christmas Dinner. Will pop your card through the letterbox. Perhaps we could meet up for coffee in Splits next time we come down to check the caravan.

Good Morning all mild and sunny here today. It's the winter solstice days will get longer. What an uplifting thought. Today is my husbands 17th anniversary, the years have flown by but I still miss him. Gordon is taking me out for lunch, yet another Christmas Dinner. So will put on a happy face, even though I don't feel it. Have a good day all.

Afternoon everyone. George came over this morning and helped me assemble the mid size plastic storage shed so Larry the mower is now in there wrapped in sheeps wool insulation for the winter, along with his charging base and other bits and bobs. So I wont have to worry about him getting damaged in the frost if we get any. The storage shed was on special offer with 25% off so ideal. I'll get him a proper 'garage' before next summer, it'll give me time to save up for it.
The rat man came Friday and my bait stations have killed all the rats, evidently next door's garden is smothered in holes where they've tried to burrow in. He put lots of bait and some traps up in my loft incase anymore come through but said the drainage trench that Kier had put in along the back of the gardens is a rat's hotel and the worst thing they could have done. Not only has it encouraged rats to colonise there it's also made the flooding worse in my garden, so I promptly sent emails to both Kier and the Housing Assoc with his report.
My big Xmas shop comes tomorrow, there's just me and George for both days, and we've gone halves each and it's worked out a lot cheaper than if we'd gone up the pub for xmas dinner. Plus we have enough food for both days and a few days after.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone and keep warm and dry.

Hi Sally We came via A27 and then came in from the top roundabout. There was lots of surface water on Friday and it was even worse today. A police car went shooting passed us as traffic was reduced to 1/2 a lane near the Marina. When we came back there was a diversion they'd shut the main road and sent us via Donnington and the Blacksmith. Their car park was full looked as though they were doing a good trade. On Friday we checked the caravan our garden was OK but others were flooded - never seen it so bad. Our road is tarmac the rest of the site is rough track it was just a sea of mud and deep holes. Our meal at the Legion was lovely.

Good Morning all. Lots to do today's but my back so will be pottering gently. Gordon is coming over to deliver the cards to the neighbours - too much walking for me. It's frightening to see how my mobility has declined over such a short time. I'd like a new back for Christmas but that's as likely as the dust fairies paying a visit.
