Good morning everyone.
Its a much brighter day here today.
I need to try to get out for a walk.
Yes Starry I did hear from the Admiral Nurse and she is going to stay in touch with me. Not a lot of practical help but she did say when it starts up again I am on the list.

Good morning all, it's a beautiful sunny day here and a gentle breeze. My shed and garage roofs were steaming this morning - never seen that before! First time for many years, today I overslept and didn't wake up till 9.15. Got a few light chores today. Have a good day all. Starry hope you MIL is a little bit better today.

Good morning ladies. mild and dry here. Makes a change not to have rain.
Making a Ginger and Date Cake today. My Asda shop was 15 mins early, had 3 subs, 2 not acceptable but 1 was. Basically ordered raspberry jam seeded and they gave me raspberry jam seedless. Actually got my granary bread flour at last, I ordered 3 bags, so now I can restart baking my own bread again. I mix wholemeal, white and granary together and it makes a super tasty loaf.
My gallbladder had settled down nicely but I was sat on the sofa this morning and lent forward to grab Dora's rabbit she wanted me to play with and had an awful twinge in it that made me break out into an awful sweat and feel ill. So will be taking it easy today, just bake my cake and hope there's not much damage done. So it must still be inflammed and swollen. Wish they'd hurry up and give me my vaccine so I can get my gallbladder sorted out. I think they're just lumping me in with the over 65 group. I am over 65 (68) but I'm also clinically vulnerable so should have been included in with the over 70's, group 4. So it looks like I will have a lot longer to wait yet.
STARRY when you applied for an appointment online, which conditions do they ask you if you have or do they check to see if you have received the letter putting you on the extremely vulnerable list.? I didn't get that letter, as perhaps asthma and diabetes aren't classed as extremely vulnerable, just clinically vulnerable.
I've asked on Diabetes UK and several people my age with diabetes and asthma can't get a straight answer. We should be above the over 65's as we have underlying health conditions, but we're not classed as extremely vulnerable. There's dozens of people in my situation who are vulnerable but having to wait longer to be vaccinated.
Moan over lol
Enjoy your day ladies. Stay safe!
PS: Just seen this on my surgerie's website, they were a designated vaccination site, but looks like they're not now. And not giving any more vaccinations. Here's their update:Quote:
01.02.21 We have come to the end of our clinics for now. We still have some housebound patients to vaccinate and we will be contacting them to arrange a visit. We are not yet sure if or when we are going to receive any further vaccines, so the message remains... Please do not call us asking when you are likely to be vaccinated, we will contact you in due course. In the meantime please stay safe and follow the government guidelines.

Thanks Starry, no I've not received a letter or anything. Being asthmatic and diabetic I'd have thought I would have received one by now. I was talking to someone online yesterday who had been inundated with letters to book an appointment, she's 55 and in good health. No medical conditions at all, so she hasn't booked an appointment. Makes you wonder if whoever is sending these letters out knows what they're doing, or the GP practices aren't registering vulnerable patients properly with the NHS.

Morning everyone. Beautiful sunny day here with blue sky and great big white fluffy clouds blowing across from the East. The wind is bitter though. Had to wrap up to go out and feed the birds this morning. I'm not complaining, I'm glad to see a dry day.
Stay safe everyone

Good afternoon all. It's a bitterly cold day here and we have a light dusting of snow. I've just finished sterilising the shopping, we're waiting for it to dry before we put it away. My back has been playing up ever since I lined the bottom of my wardrobe, it was getting better but when I woke up this morning it was giving me hell. I struggled to do the washing up this morning and then spraying the food and lifting it from one side of the sink to the other finished it off. Gordon will put it away. I'll be doing nothing for the rest of the day. Gordon is just drifting off again in his chair he's always tired after carrying the shopping in. We always have a pizza on shopping day to make it nice and easy. My vaccination is Wednesday afternoon and we're supposed to be getting heavy snow. I've got very little balance on snow and may have to cancel. It's not worth taking a risk of falling and possibly breaking something. Stay safe and take care.

Afternoon all, A slightly patchy sprinkling of snow overnight. It's frozen hard and it's very slippery. We had a very late night watching Foyle on TV, I didn't wake up till 9 am and Gordon was fast asleep in his chair., guess he had another bad night. He gets up and does crossword puzzles. I left him sleeping and tipped toed around him, not that he would have woken up. I don't think either of us will be doing much. I'm going to be looking for a short-sleeved top, or a loose sleeved jumper for my jab tomorrow. Have a good day all.

Afternoon ladies. There was no snow here, not even a frost, but the small pond had thick ice on the top which hasn't melted all day. The cold wind is horrendous. Fed the birds twice today as they were starving hungry.
Had to order a flapped vent cover for the kitchen extractor fan, as the builderes never put one on, everyone else has one fitted but not me. So I bought a cowl and got someone to fit it over the outside but when the wind is in the East like now, it blows straight through and the fan sucks all the heat out into the garden. So today I bought 2 from Screwfix on the phone, to make sure they'd fit, the girl was really helpful, she didnt charge for delivery and they will be here Thursday, she said whichever one is no good ring them up and they'll refund me. Trouble is I can't fit it myself. The vent is high up under the eaves, and the old cowl I bought has to come off first, with 4 screws. Then see which of the 2 do the job best. Probably the cowl shaped one with the flanged flap rather than the other one which is just flat and has 6 flaps. But won't know which one works til we try them. I'll ask George or next door's son Peter if they'll do it for me. They won't have to come indoors, or into contact with me. I'm absolutely frozen today with the bitter draft blowing in.
Apart from that I've not done anything all day. Just about to have my chinese chicken dinner.
Stay safe everyone!

It is bitterly cold here today and hubby had to go for his jab. A mammoth job getting him to go in the first place and I thought I'll have to give up - but did eventually manage to get him dressed and out. He had the Oxford jab and we were straight out into the cold again before the taxi arrived. I was hoping for the 15 minute wait so I could order the taxi in time for us to leave - hey ho - bloody no.
