Re: Good Morning

Sorry about Gizmo Hazel. It must have been upsetting to see him like that

I’ve had my second jab. Can’t do any more now. Felt a bit woozy afterwards and a sore arm now. They said take paracetamol as if side effects fit second jab were to be expected

Re: Good Morning

Good  morning everyone.

2 weeks isolation for you now Diane? It must be a relief to know you'll be relatively safe then thank goodness. I get mine in another 5 or 6 weeks I think. It's a bit worrying with all these new variants coming out of Brazil, our Gov seem useless at checking everyone coming into the country though. Someone on Twitter was saying yesterday who's son works at Heathrow or Gatewick can't remember now which one, that no-one is being checked coming into the country, they just walk straight through,so I don't suppose it'll be long before we have new variants brought in and another lockdown. Even tho Boris says he won't authorise another lockdown.

On a more cheery note, sort of, I'm off out lunchtime to the big medical centre in St Austell for my 2 yrly eye examination for glaucoma. I'm supposed to have a zoom 'Wellbeing' meeting (the first one) this morning at 10.30, but I'm not keen and don't really have the time for it. I might not attend. My 5 floribunda roses came yesterday and have beens soaking in a bucket of water all night and they really need to go in asap, I would have liked to have planted them this morning, but will have to wait now til later this afternoon.

Hope your side effects soon clear up Diane, they do say with the Pfizer one the side effects are slightly more with the 2nd jab. Take it easy today.

Enjoy your day ladies xxx

Re: Good Morning

Why two weeks of isolation Hazel??? I'm continuing as normal. I went out to Sainsburys to collect my Alexa and do a little shop.

I took a couple of lots of paracetamol yesterday as I felt a bit woozy and heady. My arm is sore and I prefer to use the other arm, but feel fine apart from that.  I'd heard the side effects were worse from the Oxfrord jab. Its weird what you read about the different manufacturers of the vaccines.  From my experience, hubby's side effects were worse than mine and he had Oxford and I was Pfizer.

Came back from Sainsburys and had lunch, turned the tv on to find the Duke of Edinburgh had died. Such a pity he didn't make his 100 birthday. So close. RIP

I saw on tv way back when the vaccinations were being rolled out that you're not fully protected until  2 weeks after the 2nd jab and you should still avoid other people as you did after the 1st jab. So 2 weeks after you can go about as normal but with social distancing of course.

Re: Good Morning

I see where you are going. Yes I’m continuing to do that all the time. I don’t know whether I’m a carrier anyway. Although I’ve already ordered my lateral flow tests to do them at home twice a week. That should tell me

Re: Good Morning

Good Morning all, cold and dull here this today. Had a couple of difficult days. I made the mistake of tidying the larder and had to sit on a low stool.  When I finished I was unable to get up! Whilst getting up I fell and had to crawl and pull myself up on the bed it was painful, to say the least. Yesterday, we both rested until Brodie went into the garden and had a dirty bottom.  Whilst catching him Gordon fell and struggled to get up.  We had to shower Brodie and I was back on the stool again. When finished, I was wet, and stuck again!  After drying Brodie, we were both exhausted, hadn't eaten and too tired to cook.   We made do with soup, bread and an early night. Today we're both in considerable pain. I've yet to clean the shower and wash my clothes.

Re: Good Morning

Good afternoon ladies.

Another beautiful day here, it's warmer than it was yesterday, I've changed the bed and done 3 loads of washing, all dried on the line in record time what with the wind and the sun.

I should be planting 9 roses today but giving it a break, I had a job to walk this morning when I got up. Gizmo is still doing well thank goodness. I had visions of having to take him in at the w/end to be pts. But he's rallied round and you wouldn't know he'd been so poorly the other morning.

Sorry to hear you've been going through a run of mishaps Carol. I hope you're both taking paracetamols and taking it easy today.

Re: Good Morning

Good morning ladies.

Another brilliant sunny day, but with a cold wind. I managed to heel in the roses yesterday so I have a couple of weeks to actually plant them. Give me back a chance to recover.

George may be coming over today, we hae a sort of bubble, as he doesn't have anyone else to visit him or visit the same as me. It's too cold to sit out in the garden today with that wind, so will be indoors if he comes with the door open. What a palava.

Gizmo is still hanging in there and seems the same as before he had that funny turn, so was a false alarm. Speaking to thers who have elderly dogs and dogs with the same conditions as him it seems the 'norm' for there to be a few false alarms before the actual day arrives. Thank goodness my vet said take him home for 24/48hrs to see how he goes on. Or I'd have had him put to sleep too early.

I've been enjoying hearing about things I didn't know about Prince Philip. It's very sad but he was well liked. Twitter is full of younger people being so disrespectful it's disgusting. I've reported dozens of accounts. And the racism on there lately is horrendous, and it's not whites towards blacks its blacks aiming it at whites. I'm so glad we don't have many down here. Which is why my parents moved down here in the 60's. There doesnt seem any respect for anything or anyone these days.

Well can't change the world so going to make a cup of tea and eat a piece of cake. LOL
Enjoy your day ladies!

Re: Good Morning

Good evening all, we've had a couple of days resting but are both still very tired. We had to get up early this morning to prepare the kitchen for our food delivery. It's all been sterilised, and most of it has been packed away. I'm looking forward to the charity shops opening. I will be able to donate a large pile of unwanted items from the caravan. I finally sterilised the shower this afternoon, I'm now too tired to get into it. Roll on tomorrow morning!

I was sorry to hear prince Phillip, he's been ill for some time and age was against him. He will be sadly missed by so many.
