Re: Good Morning

The new freezer is to supplement the fridge freezer. I do a lot of batch cooking and my little one is now full. I'm almost out of meat and have just one bag of mixed veg left. It's only a small chest one.  Gordon is coming to the vet's with me tomorrow and we will hopefully clear a space for it.  Then I will order the additional one.  Gordon is happy to shop every day but I hate it,  with my restricted mobility it takes too much out of me.  I get a big order from ASDA every other month. I've been planning to do it for ages so nothing to do with the flu.

Re: Good Morning

Hello everyone.

An early start today as I went to weigh in. I was in two ... no ... three minds whether to go or not. The sun was shining here but Newquay was as black as night, so bad weather was around. Should I go, should I not. In the end I went and got there alright. Decided to catch the earlier bus back home in case the weather closed in ... and I could see it was as the bus journeyed home. Watching for drops of rain carefully otherwise I would have got off the bus near the taxi and caught one home. Got off at my bus stop ... still dry ... walking along ... first drops of rain. Then steady rain and hail ... never mind the wind. Scurried home quickly hugging hedges for protection and hung my coat and trousers up to dry. Almost made it.

Getting ready to go to Short Mat Bowls, my handbag looked odd ... and when I looked again, I'd left my purse behind at slimming. I contacted the advisor and luckily she has it. I'm surprised the people behind me in the queue never saw it and called out. That's what they usually do when something has been left at the desk.  Good job I was going out this afternoon as I wouldn't have checked my bag till possibly Thursday and only realised then.  I'd loaded my purse as hubby's sister and hubby are coming tomorrow.

Its raining and hailing now. I can hear the drops hitting the window. 3 degrees outside. Wind still blowing. More storms to come at the weekend with Wednesday being the best day this week.

Reading Facebook there were some lightening and thunder storms round but I didn't see or hear any through the night, but apparently they said they were something else to see. We did have a couple of claps of thunder this afternoon.

I'm not sure what to think about the virus sweeping the world. I'm seeing that it is only harmless to folks who are vulnerable and healthy people it will only be an inconvenience. If that was the case then why the big worry about it.  ????  Time will tell.

Re: Good Morning

Good morning everyone. Beautiful morning, we have had a few hail showers but only short lived ones and the sky is blue with bright sunshine, although the stiff breeze is freezing cold.

We had those lightening storms the night before last Diane, they were horrendous, and we also had thunder all afternoon yesterday. Good job none of the pets worry about it. I always think of poor Mojo as he was petrified of thunder.

Waiting on my Asda shop coming at 11am. I've ordered one or two extra little bits like tinned meat and baked beans, things I never usually eat but handy for an emergency. I see more people have succumbed to the virus. I don't believe anything they tell us on tv now, when they say it's nothing to worry about unless you're over 65 or have health problems. I think it's hitting every age group to be honest.

I'll order my coronaggedon shopping this friday lol  I've already made the list out. At least if I don't need to use it, and hopefully that's the case, it will see me over most of the year so my usual shop won't cost as much. Especially the pets food as it is all on offer at the moment.

Stay safe ladies!

Re: Good Morning

Hello everyone.

Hubby's sister and hubby have been and gone. Lovely to see them for a brief time.

The weather has been beautifully sunny one minute, then raining hard with hail the next. The wind has died right down though.

I'll collect my purse when I go next Monday. Luckily it was just money and my carers emergency card that is in there. My cards are kept in a separate folder, luckily. I'm not even sure if I have any id in my purse (apart from the emergency card which has a number to contact where hubby's details are stored if necessary)

I seem to have lost all the stored pdf's on my Books. I went to get a recipe for muffins to make this morning and realised its empty. I've had a very quick trawl around and Google but nothing has worked so far. I've looked at my back up and can't find books at all. All very odd.

How strange about the thunder and lightening Hazel. I would have thought I would have heard your thunder distance wise ... and I definitely didn't sleep that well to sleep through it.

Re: Good Morning

Good morning everyone.

Its bright here today.

The cleaners are coming this afternoon and I've got WI tonight.

I just glanced out of the window to see a rainbow then the clouds have moved in and had a hail shower.

Re: Good Morning

Good morning ladies

Bit of a cold breeze here today but thank goodness no rain or hail. There's definately a nip in the air today.

I see the virus is spreading and experts have now said this is only the tip of the iceberg and that it will effect around 60% of the population. The 2 doctors infected in Brighton worked at several GP clinics and also the hospital A&E dept. That's worrying. Could be dozens infected through them.  I was beginning to wonder about ordering my coronaggedon shopping but will now go ahead with it. At least it would see me and the pets through a few months once the virus kicks in and spreads down here.

It was interersting to see the BBC showed their 'Pandemic' documentary last night on BBC4. I'd seen it back in about 2017 when it was first aired. Just shows how things spread rapidly and how ill prepared we are now, bcause most of what they were saying in the documentary hasn't been implemented so we are still vulnerable in this country.

Anyway on a brighter note, my friend in Scotland has sent me a parcel which should arrive today. It's all clothing. Before she was diagnosed with cancer and a few months after she was terrible for buying new clothes and then not wearing them, so she has sent me knickurs, tops, pants and pj's. Except I don't wear pj's I prefer a knee lenght nightie so they will go on Ebay and anything that I wouldnt wear. She said they're all brand new unworn and still have labels on them. I am going to go through my wardrobe and drawers this week as there's things in there I will never wear and some of those are new. So I'll wait until Ebay do a free final selling price promotion so it won't cost so much in fees, and then bung them on there for sale.

Enjoy your day folks! x

Re: Good Morning

Good afternoon all. I'm in dreadful pain today, I slept awkwardly and ended up on my back, something I shouldn't and never do.  Thankfully Gordon came over early as it was club day. I couldn't go so he said he'd stay and look after Brodie and I. He's currently sleeping in a recliner chair where he's been all morning.
It was bad news yesterday at the vet. The x ray showed either a chronic bronchitis or westie lung disease, and what could be a lung tumour. The only way to be sure is to do a CT scan.  Brodie is too old for major surgery so the Cinnamon Trust has agreed to keep him as comfortable as possible as long as he's enjoying his life.  He's now taking antibiotics, lung worm treatment and a steroid. I don't understand why he needs the lung worm treatment. if he improves then it's bronchitis.  He also needs a dental and probably an extraction which will be done in a few weeks time.  He's eating well and quite happy bless him. Stay save and dry.

Re: Good Morning

Good morning everyone.

Its another squally day. Horrid wind and rain when it happens, and dry and no wind when it doesn't.

We are off to Memory Cafe this afternoon.

I had some vouchers for shopping with Morrisons online only so decided at the last minute to do an online shop for today. Did that. Double checked it when I came back from WI and added the Valentines Meal Deal. This morning... when its too late to change ... I was checking the list and I haven't ordered the starter .... so everything has come through full price. So I'm going to be needing to sort them out and return them. What a bummer.

Re: Good Morning

Good afternoon everyone, breezy and wet here again. But at least it's warm.

I've just been up the village to post a parcel. I bought what I thought was one teddy bear on Ebay and when the box arrived it was 15!!!!!! So Ive been selling them off for a fiver plus postage and just kept the one I wanted in the first place. The extra money will go into Bonnie's charity as that is always needing funds.

No Valentines cards or flowers for me again, what a surprise, maybe it's because I don't have a romantic man friend

I was going to make a chicken stew today, but decided on a curry instead so will make that later on.

Starry a couple of neighbours went to see 1917 and thought it was mediocre. Its not a film I'd like to see, far too noisey and depressing.

Dani hope you're ok?

Carol sorry to hear about Brodie, but at least you know now what's  wrong with him. I would think they've given him a course of lung worm tablets to help with his breathing. Not all flea/tick treatments cover heart worm and lung worm so that was a good move on your vet's part.  More cuddles on the cards for Brodie now then. Bless him.

Diane was that the first home delivery you've had from Morrisons? Apart from the dinner for 2 did you get many or any substitutions?
