Re: Good Morning

Its my third Morrisons delivery Hazel. I got one substitution for the last two ... I wanted Lamb Casserole Mix but received Pork Casserole Mix which was returned.  All the part Valentines Meal deal wasn't added to my receipt when it arrived, so that was good.  Morrisons are delivering from Redruth - I think I said - but they are going to be delivering straight from Bodmin soon.

Re: Good Morning

Afternoon ladies. Wet and windy here still. Been busy catching up with the laundry, and on the last of 3 washes at the moment.  I made a big chicken curry for dinner last night so got the half that was left today. I could have frozen it but decided not to.
Hope everyone's ok in the storm.
I feel so sorry for those people who have been flooded for a third time, poor souls.

Re: Good Morning

Good morning everyone

It looks dry at the moment but very dark and cloudy...... More bad weather      is expected today.

Paul, Maya and Lola are still hoping to come over today. I don't want them getting caught in the bad weather but we haven't seen Maya and Lola since the beginning of January.

That must have been scary listening to that in the night Starry.      Hope all is well

Re: Good Morning

Afternoon ladies

Pouring hard here but at least the wind's not as strong. Not got much to do today, cooking roast pork for dinner later, and it's our XPets adventure ths evening on Twitter, so will be taking part in that.

No damage here from the storm thank goodness and amazingly too. It was horrendous last night. Thought the roof was coming off.  I feel so sorry for everyone who has been flooded yet again. It must be so disheartening and devastating to lose everything over and over again. Poor souls. I also worry about all the wildlife, farm stock and pets who must suffer in this weather and some who lose their lives.

Keep warm and safe everyone!

Re: Good Morning

Morning ladies
At last it's calmer today, had some rain overnight but dry now and just a stiff breeze!

Waiting on my ASDA shop arriving between 10 and 10.30am so that'll keep me busy, ordered extra's for the store cupboard, my coronaggedon supply

Hope you're all ok and no-one had any damage due to Dennis?

Re: Good Morning

Afternoon all Had a few frustrating days in.  My MOT was due on the 14th, The MOT centre that I use cancelled my appointment as instead ot the 3 bays open they only had one.  Can't legallydrive until it's done. Have got a few jobs done but not much.  As far as I know no storm damage apart from my wheelie bin blowing over and knocking my car. According to our local weather man there are going to be two more storms heading our way. Some of my neighbours gardens are flooded. Fortunately my garden isn't. Annoying about your roof Sally and yet more expense. Is there much damage to the properties overlooking the sea?

Re: Good Morning

Hello everyone.

An early start to weigh in to catch the early bus. To be told I'd gained 1.1/2 lbs from hoovering up the muffins left over from hubby's sister's visit.

I got wet going to the bus. Then when I left to catch the bus home, it rained again!!

Went to short mat bowls and was paired with the chap who has memory problems. who is dumped there by his daughter and lets others look after him. (I always try to avoid that ... but this time it was unavoidable)  So a chap handed me his bowls to give to him and I flatly refused. As soon as the word left my lips I realised I'd been too outspoken ... so went and had a chat with the bloke afterwards and said that came out a bit too bluntly .... but if he needs looking after his daughter should be doing it, not me. I've got my own chap to look after and I don't leave him for others to do it, so I'm not expecting others to do it to me. He said I'm 100% with you and good for you for saying so.   Oooops.

Re: Good Morning

Hello everyone.

An early start for a day out with Paul, Maya and Lola ... and a picnic to prepare. We went to the Falmouth Maritime Museum and had a good day there. Paul and co had tickets supposedly (once you buy a ticket its valid for a year) so there was just hubby to buy for. As a carer I get in free with him. But when we got there Paul's tickets ran out earlier this month. So instead of one ticket to buy ... I landed with everyone's!!!!! Hey ho ... the joy of Nannie hood.

The weather has been in and out and we've driven through dry bits and bits where the rain has hammered down and you could hardly see from the spray on the roads. Thankfully the wind seems to have died down.

But tonight, sitting watching tv I thought I heard a rumble but hadn't seen anything about storms on tv ... then there was an enormous flash and crack of lightening and all the lights went out. It was hammering down with rain and sounded windy too. I'm scrambling around for lights and by the time I'd got sorted and we sat there for a bit the lights came on and when we looked outside everywhere was covered in white!!!  Someone local posted on Facebook about how loud it was and that it had fried their computer ..... so I'm sitting downstairs thinking everything downstairs has come on and I'd reset the phone time and the cooker clock ... so came upstairs to look at computer. But thankfully all is well.

Hope your tests were alright today Hazel
