Re: Good Morning

Afternoon all.  Still suffering from starting the sun lounge cleaning. Gordon has just finished painting the wall  where a cupboard was removed. I was going to be cleaning but definitely a no go today. We're both sitting here with  hot wheat bags in the small of our backs. Gordon has just nodded off to sleep with the remote clutched in his hand. Little does he know I've found a spare

Re: Good Morning

Good morning everyone

Its actually dry although it seems like its rained through the night.

I wanted to nip to the local garden centre on the bus. When we went with hubby''''''s sister I bought a battery flame lantern      and its so brilliant that I fancy another one to hang in the sun shelter.  I might even buy one for my sister for a pressie. Its so lifelike  ... its on the window cill at the moment and I keep thinking its going to burn it!!

Re: Good Morning

Good Morning all.  We were going down to the caravan  to check all was well but it's not a nice day with gusty winds. We'll leave it until later in the week. Going to clean my new coffee machine and treat myself to a latte. I'll do a few chores with plenty of rests and  lots of coffee. There are apparently another two storms on the way be glad when it's spring! Have a good day all.

Re: Good Morning

Good morning ladies.
Calm morning here, grey skies but a little brighter and although we had rain overnight it's now stopped.
Waiting on ASDA coming with my usual weekly shop at 10:15 - 11am. I have some lovely diced Irish beef coming as I have the urge to make homemade pasties. Dinner tonight is the last of the chicken stew I made yesterday for dinner. It was really yummy so looking forward to that.  Nothing really organised for today apart from a bit of housework *groan* and some needlefelting.
oooh almost forgot my BP last night was 119/68  so bang on 'Ideal'.
Enjoy your day folks. x

Re: Good Morning

Good morning everyone.

Its very wet and windy outside. The rain is blowing across and looks horrid.  Thankfully we are indoors today.

Re: Good Morning

Good morning all

Bit blustery this morning and showers on and off but nothing too bad.
Making pasties today, got some lovely diced Irish beef, fresh veg and having a go at making proper pasty pastry. I usually make them with my own shortcrust pastry but it's quite rich and crumbly so not ideal for pasties. I'm following a recipe for the pastry from the pasty championship website which gives the recipe for that tougher thinner pastry you get on shop pasties. It's plain bread flour, butter, lard, pinch of salt and water. Thats it. You knead it then cover it and leave it in the fridge for 3-4hrs before rolling it out and putting your filling ontop. So will report back what they turn ut like, I'm having one for my dinner tonight.

Keep warm and dry everyone! x

Re: Good Morning

Afternoon all, blustery day here, same as usual wet and windy pfft...

I see they have snow up north, saw pics on Twitter and it looked quite deep.

Starry the pasties wre a great success but I have no room in the freezer at the moment, so I had one for dinner last night and one for lunch today, there's 4 left. I'm not sure how long they'll keep in the fridge, I might be able to stash one or two in the freezer but it's pretty stuffed at the moment.

I've spent the day doing housework, so cream crackered now and sat down with a hot mug of coffee. There's a Twitter friend calling in tomorrow on her way home from Penzance where her father lives, he's been very poorly with pneumonia he's 90 so she was quite concerned about him. Her sister lives down this way and usually takes care of him but she had flu too.

Yesterday about 7 half my heating packed up. Same old problem, one of the control valves not working, so I had heat in the living room/kitchen and none in the hall, bedrooms or bathroom. Rang the Housing Assoc and  the repair company are coming out tomorrow morning. The guy lives in Plymouth so not far to come, at least it's not the one that lives 2 miles away who has tourets. He's a nice enough chap but when he starts shouting it starts the dogs off barking. lol

Re: Good Morning

Evening all. Day two cleaning the sun  lounge. I do the lower panels sitting down and Gordon goes up the ladder. It's very slow progress. One panel for me two for Gordon today and then we were both knackered. The grime is slowly retreating. Using Koh no smell and brilliant, spray on and wipe off. Love it.

Re: Good Morning

Hello everyone.

An early start to catch the bus to get to weigh in. I hadn't realised how wet and windy it was outside and I went to blow my nose and my tissue was sopping in my coat pocket. Getting to weigh in I realised my trousers were soaking wet going through to my pants and my cardigan. So caught the earlier bus back home so I could change. The last thing I needed was to get soaking wet. We'd made plans to be picked up to go to Short Mat Bowls so I popped on new clothes and went out reluctantly...... If we'd gone under our own steam, we both said we wouldn't have gone.  So coming back home I'm feeling even worse so cancelled my facial tomorrow...... I couldn't face getting wet again with an early start, never mind passing my cold onto the therapist.

It started drying up a bit this afternoon.

Hope you get your heating sorted pdq      Hazel. Typical it plays up in the winter
