Re: Good Morning

Good morning everyone.

At the moment the sun is out and its looking lovely. They did say we could see sunshine through the wintry showers today.

A quiet day on the cards

Re: Good Morning

Good afternoon everyone, grey and cold wind here but thankfully no rain.

I did my housework yesterday and cleaned right through the bungalow apart from the hobby room, I did hoover in there but there's so much stuff in there you can only walk through the middle lol

Had the heating engineeer this morning and he thought it was probably the thermostat controller, there's 2, one in the hall and the other in the living room. So he's ordering a new one. I suggested he swop them over, to check if it was the thermostat which he hadn't thought of and said I should work for his company as it was a brilliant idea *rolls eyes*. When he plugged the living room one into the hall it worked straight away and the radiators in the front of the bungalow all heated up. The dead controller is now in the living room, so no heating in there, but I don't mind as I can use my air con unit that also does heat. He said it'll be about 2 weeks at least to get the new one to me. pffft....

We've now got several schools in Cornwall sending pupils home who have recently returned from skiing holidays in northern Italy. So the virus could be here. I'm so glad I've got lots of food in for myself and the pets, incase we have to go into lockdown or anything. I've got enough put by for myself and the pets to last about 6months.  So I'm a happy bunny.

Keep warm everyone x

Re: Good Morning

Morning ladies, a very cold one here but no rain for a change. The wind is bitter though.

The heating engineer turned up yesterday lunchtime and made it worse, ended up with no heat in either heating zones front or back. So had to ring the housing association again who then rang the company who then contacted one of their top engineers who came at 8pm last night. He has ordered a new hallway thermostat controller and one new control valve (there's 2) then said he could 'fix it' so both zones run off the sam thermostat which is in the lounge. Which he did and said it would be about 1 or 2 weeks before someone would be back to fit theem. BUT when the living thermostat controller was set to turn off  the living room radiators they went off but it had no effect on zone 1 the front of the bungalow. So the heating for that zone stayed on all night and is still on. So I've gone from no heat to too much heat in the bedrooms/bathroom and hallway.  I turned down the thermostat valves on the radiators to try and cool it off but it's not made much difference.

Rather than phone the housing association I will ring the company direct this morning and ask them if they can get the engineer that came last night to call me as he seems to be the only one that knows anything about the system, and ask him if its normal for the other zone to keep pushing out heat if its supposed to be controlled by one thermostat.

Waiting on ASDA with my normal shop this morning, then DPD are coming with the dog's food as it was 65% off at Fetch.co.uk. This afternoon a twitter friend is calling in on her way back to Plymouth after spending a week in Penzance caring for her 90 yrs old father who has had pneumonia.

So a busy day here.

Re: Good Morning

It's been a beautiful day here cold and sunny.  We went to lunch club today Roast pork with all the trimmings followed by lemon tart.  No cooking for me tonight.  I'm going down with a cold, sore throat and feeling very tired. It started in my left tonsil are which now is almost better but now the right area is playing up and I appear to have bitten my tongue. It's swollen and very sore.  Brodie has taken advantage of my nodding off and opened up my rubbish bag. He's had a good root around and scattered the contents over my kitchen floor. God only knows what he has eaten, just hope he's not going to throw up.  No snow here yet, any in your area Hazel?

Re: Good Morning

Good morning everyone

Bit cold here but not too bad, no Carol we've not had snow although we did have a few heavy hail showers over the last week.

Making small needle felted teddies today, well one, they take ages to make. A Twitter friend called in on her way home to Plymouth yesterday from Penzance and brought me a beautiful handmade teddy, she makes and sells them for £140 each. It was a gift from her and another Twitter pal. He's gorgeous.

My dog food came from fetch.co.uk yesterday, so have enough now for about 4 months, it was on offer and I saved just over £4 a box. I did get 15% off the cat's special biscuits, they'll arrive later today. She has special biscuit for bladder stones and furballs, so it's pretty expensive stuff. I was glad to get the discount off it. So she has enough for about 4 months too.

Its a bit of a lump to pay out each time but buying it this way I do actually save a lot of money.

I've just ordered 4 blueberry bushes online, 3 different blue blueberries and one pink blueberry. I already have half a dozen gooseberry bushes in the garden, so the blueberries will go inbetween those and make nice little shrubs with fruit to pick. The apple trees I have are ok, one is a very heavy cropper but the other one's not so good. The pear tree has never had any blossom or fruit on it and I lost one of the plum trees due to the waterlogged soil, the one that's left has never had blossom or fruit on it, and gets scabby leaves every year and looks awful so I'm going to try and dig that one up and bin it. My fig is doing well but gets windswept which blows the figs off before I can pick them pffft.  I do love gooseberries and blueberries.

Carol hope Brodie is ok, hopefully he'll pass anything he's swollen and he doesnt get a blockage.

Keep warm everyone!

Re: Good Morning

Good morning ladies. Raining here pffft....

Off to pick up my cleaning order from Asda at lunchtime. Bleach, wipes, hand gel, disinfectant, toilet cleaner, all purpose cleaner bla bla bla. Want to stock up for the Coronaggedon when it gets down here properly.
IF it does,  I don't want to be having stuff delivered that someone's coughed over or have to go to the shops and mingle with the infected. My stock is dwindling indoors anyway, so it's not really a panic buy as such.

Can't wait to hear from Starry with a pic maybe of Pippa's pram. I love prams! Just something about them, strange as I'm not at all maternal. I used to love pushing Bonnie around in her pet buggy. lol

Re: Good Morning

Sorry to hear you're poorly Diane, hope you get better soon. Well done Hazel you've saved a lot of money on the dog food. Against the odds the sun lounge is finished. Gordon (Superman)  Cleaned the roof yesterday and the rest of the panels.  I also am not well. My throat is still so sore and my tongue also. Think I've bittern it it's swollen.  Just going to do my ASDA order. All for a purpose AO have sold out of the freezer I wanted. So I'm on their list for the next delivery.  Have to keep checking my emails, don't want to miss the boat. Brodie had no ill effects from his theft. Last night he woke me up coughing, he went straight back to sleep whilst I lay there worrying.  He's OK today. Hope your heating gets sorted soon Hazel. Starry an exciting time for you. Hope Pippa stays well for the rest of her pregnacy. Stay warm and safe.

Re: Good Morning

Good afternoon everyone

Sorry to hear you're poorly Diane, I hope you soon feel better. Plenty of hot milk with butter and brown sugar and a dash of whisky. I lived off that when I had bronchitis once. Can't remember much about it, think I used to put too much whisky in it

Lovely day one minute here, hail and snow the next. Weird strange weather. It goes from a bright blue sky and sunshine to black sky almost like night then snow and hail.

We're doomed!

Well my Coronaggedon supply store is now complete. I can survive for up to 5-6 months on my supplies from everything to paracetamol to puppy pads, tinned foods to dried pasta, toothpaste to toilet rolls. Even got water treatment tablets incase it gets totally out of control and we can't get fresh water. I can use the water from the 3 waterbutts in the garden. LOL

I wish really I could have a couple of chicken, but the nasty neighbour would report me. I could have had fresh eggs then. pffft.

Hope everyone is ok and keeping warm in this horrid weather. Enjoy your Saturday folks. x

Re: Good Morning

Good afternoon all. Just done my 3 monthly Asda order delivery only a £1. I wanted to get some meat but after reading the reviews decided to buy from the local butcher and freeze it when my freezer comes. Couldn't get everything I wanted so will have a go at either Sainsburys or Tesco.  Got a bargain on dog food via Amazon would normally cost £42 but on offer for £26 less the £8 on my gift voucher £18.  Brodie is ready for Coronaggedon. Just hope he lasts long enough to finish it and I last long enough to serve it. He's feeling fine today, been up to mischief. Worn  himself out and has retired to bed until he hears his food being served.  No sign of the storm here today apparently Spain panicked no surprise there. The winds weren't as high as suspected so a false alarm. Have a good day all.
