Good morning everyone.
The sun is out ... was out ... I should say.
A quiet day on the cards here. I've got a delivery from Argos coming today that I eventually managed to put through. I could have come yesterday if I'd got the order in. I didn't realise they delivered so quickly.
Glad your hand is improving slightly Hazel.

Good morning everyone.
Its a dry day here at the moment.
I opted out of weigh in and the early bus and will go later in the week. We've got Short Mat Bowls this afternoon.

Evening ladies.
We have 5 cases now in Cornwall, but no-one knows exactly where and the council won't say, which is stupid, because everyone needs to know so they can avoid the area affected.
Starry I hope your mum's chemo went smoothly.
The GP's are telling people to cancel or rearrange any non urgent appointments for over 60's down here so maybe they're being to the same up where you are but no-one's informing the hospital departments. communication nowadays isn't good.
I'm wondering whether to cancel my CT scan in two weeks, it was booked as non urgent. If it were important then I would definately go but not sure now what to do.
Haven't done much today, my wrist is improving slowly but still painful. I'm still waiting on the heating being repaired, I rang housing today and they said it's still with their gas team (the heating isnt gas but the gas team deal with all systems) So the woman I spoke to said she'd email them and get it noted as urgent. I won't hold my breath.

Evening all. Busy day with a meeting - boring. Then waiting to speak to an advisor who was very late.. I had to be home so Gordon had to cancel. Didn't get anything done today. So a busy day tomorrow. I've got my Tesco order being delivered tonight Hopefully there wont be too many shortages. Once he's gone I'll be having an early night. Not feeling too great my sore throat is back again. It's been a month now if only the Doctor would give me some antibiotics it would clear it.
As far as I know there is only 1 case of the virus in Hampshire. I have decided to cancel my dental appointment, and we're not going to the lunch club. No point in taking unnecessary chances..

I've finally managed to buy a small freezer from Currys, being delivered on Friday. AO online have sold out as have most places. Beginning to think I wasn't going to get one. My fridge freezer is a large fridge and a small freezer so the new one is a back up and much needed.
Starry I thought that chemists and supermarkets were only allowed to sell two packets maximum to stop people commiting suicide. Some people are so greedy and selfish.! My Tesco order last night was an hour late and the only thing that didn't come were the toilet rolls. Gordon had gone shopping yesterday and bought us a 12 pack each. Bless him. He came over and helped me put it away as I'm not allowed to go on a ladder and I couldn't reach one of the shelves. Anything to keep him happy - what he doesn' know about wont hurt him. Not saying that I go up a ladder - perish the thought.!

Good mornin ladies.
It's been raining overnight but not now thank goodness. My lawn has several long clumps of grass and really needs cutting but the ground is just too boggy at the moment. Poor little Dora has to be rubbed dry when she comes in as she's only got little short legs so her tummy gets soaking wet bless her.
Thank you for asking Starry, it has got a lot better thank you. Its only really painful now if I make a sort of rotating movement with it which is great. I've got lots of plants to pot up, my blueberries, and my 3 rhubarb crowns arrived yesterday, so I really need to get it better enough to mix up my compost and get them all in their containers.
My little chest freezer arrives this morning, and my big asda order tomorrow, that's if they've got most of the food I've ordered. I dont need any antibac cleaning stuff or toilet rolls and most of the order is frozen fruit and veg so hopefully there won't be too many subs. I've also ordered another 2 packs of 16 paracetamol. They will only let you have 2 at a time. So I've been getting them for the last couple of weeks.
To say I'm not frightened about this virus would be silly, because I am very frightened. So I'll be glad when the men have dropped the freezer off. On Friday the heating engineer is coming at long last to fix my heating, which I'm quite nervous about. He must have been in quite a few people's homes the last couple of weeks and we have 5 cases of the virus in Cornwall, so I will ask him to wash his hands when he arrives, and if my masks are here in time, I'll give him one of those to wear. They do help a little, despite what the government tell us. Because if they were no help then doctors and nurses wouldn't wear them.
I've made a new section in here called Corona Support as I noticed many other forums and online communities have done the same, and they do seem to serve a purpose of giving support and help at the present time.
Keep safe everyone. xx

Good afternoon all. Glad your wrist is a bit better Hazel. If you strap it up you might be able to do a little bit of planting.. Starry we came down on Saturday and the van was fine, The condensation traps needed emptying and refilling. One of the chairs in the garden had blown over but that was all. We had a lovely roast dinner at Splits and Gordon did a bit of shopping. Unfortunately he left the meat and sausages in Chris's. We had to go back today to collect it it had been frozen. Had yet another meal at Splits and then home. Neither of us are feeling great. I have a monster sore throat and my back is troubling me and I'm finding walking difficult. Gordon has spondylitis and jarred his neck several times and he's in a lot of pain. So we are a right pair. We were going out to a hotel for a celebratory meal tomorrow but neither of us feel up to it. Gordon's going to cancel and we'll celebrate later. Diane enjoy your WI meeting.

Good morning ladies
Had a few heavy hail showers here this morning and the wind is bitter. Had to go round and unlock the side gate, so wrapped up well. I'm expecting my multipurpose compost today and another bag of Canna Coir. This is to sew my salad seeds a bit later on but mainly to plant my 3 super rhubarb crowns from Angelsey in their containers. I'm using those fabric bag pots which are really good.
It's handy buying from Amazon as it's post free, you get it the next day and the courier does all the lifting LOL
My final large Asda shop is coming this morning, mainly frozen fruit and veg for the new little freezer, but also some pies and meat. I think us oldies are going to be confined to quarters very very soon so I wanted to be prepared.
CAROL I've got a proper wrist brace on my wrist, its got a rigid metal strip inside that goes from my palm to about 6" up my wrist, its not easy to do anything much when wearing it, so I take it off when I'm watching tv. But I couldnt wear it to do my gardening as it's beige and would soon get dirty and by design I can't wear gloves over it.
Keep safe everyone.
