Re: Good Morning

Evening all, not been in for a while whilst down at the caravan I had pc problems the day we went home Andrew went on holiday for a week and was fully booked when he came back. He sorted out my problems the other day I wasn't too happy to have him indoors but he is also shielding as both he and his wife have serious health problems. Hopefully he wasn't arrying the virus, have to say I'm still a bit anxious so it's fingers crossed for a couple of weeks. I managed to have a bad fall yesterday luckily no bones broken, no cuts and no bruises at present although I'm very tender and very stiff.   It's left me very wobbly so I'm having to rest been sitting all day with my feet up.  Poor Gordon has had to do all the cooking and washing up he's finding it a bit of a strain. He did a very nice roast chicken this evening. We need to get down to the van and strip it out as I'm letting it go. I have great difficulty in getting up the steps. I'm dreading sorting it out and bringing things home. I have two boxes of stuff that I no longer need and can't find a charity shop to take it. It's all good quality stuff and far too good for the tip. I've a new gardener who is working well and tackling my jungle. he's doing three hours an week at present.  Hazel I'd like a couple more masks please. I'll go your site and choose what fabric I'd like.

Re: Good Morning

Good morning everyone

CAROL - ok sweetie just dm me when you've chosen or you can buy direct from my shop. I use different filter fabric now which has just become available, little bit thinner but does the same filtration 95%. I suppose they're improving everything as we get more aware of this virus and manufacturers are keeping up with the information.

Sorry to hear you had a nasty fall, it knocks your confidence doesnt it. Hope you're soon back to normal again.

Well we had a lovely day yesterday and I was out the front sorting out some plants, and I managed to dig a hole and plant my Stags Horn Tree. Now wondering if it's too close to next doors ence or not, but didnt really want it stuck out into the lawn any further. Today it's pouring with rain and they say the wind will get stronger as the day goes on. We have 5 storms heading our way over the next few days.

Got a home made chilli con carne in the slow cooker, will have half tonight and the rest tomorrow or will freeze it. Although my 2 little chest freezers are full to the brim almost. As people are panic having them full isn't a bad thing.

Keep warm and safe everyone.

Re: Good Morning

It's a horrible day here dull, cold and very breezy.  We were going to go down to the caravan but I'm not up to it yet, another day or so won't matter.  Gordon has offered to put stuff that I'm bringing home in his lounge which is kind of him. Hopefully, the nearby British heart foundation will take donations soon and it can go there.

Some people are panic buying but it's not quite as bad as for lockdown as the supermarkets are restricting how much you can buy. Sally managed to get all of my shopping apart from the steak and kidney, she could have got casserole steak and kidney separately but being a vegetarian didn't know the proportions to buy.  It's on my list for next week's shopping.

Gordon is going to make something I call "scouse mix". It's a mixture of tins with sausages, onions and cheese. Easy to make and delicious. The lady that gave me the recipe was a friends mum from Liverpool hence the name. I serve it with thinly sliced potatoes sprayed with oil and crisped in the oven. It will be our evening meal. Have a good day all and stay safe.

Re: Good Morning

Good morning ladies. Wish the holiday makers had gone from here, there's still dozens of them swarming all over the place. pffft.

CAROL can you put the recipe for your scousers meal on here, it sounds interesting and a way of getting rid of the tins in the emergency cupboard.

Got the heating engineer coming this afternoon thank God, it's been hell with the heating on full belt the last week. LIke living in a sauna. I did have the windows open but being autumn the big spiders were trying to come in. I'd put new mozzie screens up at the windows but the tape that comes with them keeps coming off the window, so had to order better heavy duty adhesive hook tape today from Amazon.

I was up at 2am last night, when I went to bed I opened my bathroom floor cupboard to put something away and there was a humongous spider in there, goodness knows how it got in there as the door is tight fitting and the bathroom window is never opened. I went to bed thinking I'd deal with it in the mornng but couldnt get to sleep wondering if it got in there it would get out and could be anywhere by the morning, so I got the vacuum cleaner out with the solid extension rod and sucked it up there then stood the vacuum dust cannister outside until this morning. Dora hates the vacuum so she was barking her head off at 2am. Good job I have no near neighbours. Anyway this morning before doing the hoovering I emptied the spider into one of my hotbins. it'll cook nicely in there bol Honestly it was one of the biggest I've seen.

Got 2 masks ordered so will make those this morning and wash my hair too as this heat makes me so hot my hair gets wet with sweat.

Enjoy your day folks! Stay safe

Re: Good Morning

Hi Starry I rang the Cat and Rabbit a few weeks ago and they weren't accepting donations then.  Which one did you use the original one or the Travis Perkins one? We were coming down to the van but my fall has put it on hold. I've developed pain in my hip and  my legs just aren't supporting me properly.  I managed to stand for 15 mins to start the mountain of washing up Gordon had left and then came over shaky. I've had this since I saw the chiropractor a few years ago.  My GP just said I shouldn't have let her do it! Nothing apparently can be done.
I'm hoping to come down next week and start clearing the van I've written a list of what I must bring home, anything else could, in theory, be left behind.

Re: Good Morning

Good Morning all, a beautiful sunny day here. I've put the washing on and Gordon hung it out to dry. I did as much as I could of the dishes and am now resting.  Once I've drunk my cuppa I shall go back and do part 2 of the washing up. I'm fine as long as I sit down when I can and then do a bit more when I can. Have a good day all and stay safe.

The washing was drying nicely when it suddenly chucked it down. It was so heavy it reminded me of the monsoon. It went on for half an hour. Gordon spun and put it out again. Still pretty damp might have to put it on a rack.

Re: Good Morning

Evening all a horrible day here, we've both been resting and done absolutely nothing.  Gordon had bad fall last night. Brodie got under his feet and he lost his balance.  I found him a minutes after it happened, winded and on then floor.  He's not feeling great, no damage, maybe a few bruises but  shaken.  It's been wet and windy hear cleared up late afternoon and the sun came out fo  half an hour.  Wind getting up again now.

Re: Good Morning

Good Morning all.  It's wild and wet here today.  I'm playing catch up with the washing up today.  Apart from preparing food we've done nothing at all for the last two days.  I'm bored so am starting to tackle it.  Gordon does the wiping up so he's going to help - to that I've told him yet! Have a good day all and stay safe.

Re: Good Morning

Afternoon ladies

Same weather here, wet n windy. Although the wind's dropped slightly at the moment. I put some new fabric on the shop last night and so busy today with new orders for masks. Someone on Twitter nominated me on a sewing event on Twitter and I won a beautiful sewing box and contents.  It was a lovely surprise and can't wait to receive it next week.

Hope Gordon is feeling better now Carol. It's a nasty shock when you take a tumble.
