Sorry to hear that Starry.
Yesterday I received a text message from a different doctors surgery saying that I could book a Covid vaccination online and I went straight on and booked it for next Thursday. Then I wondered as I'd heard they were making their way through the 80 year olds but thought as I'm an unpaid carer, I've been hoisted up the levels as hubby hasn't had an invitation. I've heard that it runs very smoothly at the local hospital and they've erected a covered walkway should you need to queue to get in. The people I've spoken to have gone straight in and not had to queue outside.

Sally, so sorry to hear about your stepmother. Gordon and I send you our sympathy on your loss. Diane, they are doing carers here too, although I do think they should have included your husband. It makes sense to do both together, particularly as being a carer is such hard work. We've been a bit up and down for the last few days. Gordon's knee is now very swollen and keeps giving way, I think he may have torn a tendon or snapped one. Either way, he will just have to put up with it as our Doctors are all busy with vaccinations, self-isolation or shielding. Whilst eating a toffee the other day I hurt my jaw, it's making eating very painful it's clicking. It's nothing new it's been dodgy since I had impacted wisdom teeth removed when I was 24.

Annie. I hurt my jaw somehow once and it was so painful. I found a massage on YouTube and it eased off beautifully. I’ll try and find a link

Evening all. Thanks for your help Diane, I'll give it a try. Gordon had a very bad fall in the garden. He thumped on the wall, and I found him wedged between a small wall and the bungalow. It was bitterly cold it took quite a while getting him up. This morning he was very stiff but no bruises. His right knee is very swollen. He had a telephone consult. He's got some exercises to do and got to go for a walk every day. Which means I'll have to go with him, I'll have to use my walker. Hope you all had a good day.

He's doing well so far Diane, still no bruises. I've taught him how to get out of his chair, as he was having trouble standing up with his knee. He was most reluctant but agreed to try it, and yes it is easier, he's now converted. Hopefully, he'll remember it.

Good Morning all. Sally, Gordon has had his first, my next-door neighbour has had both of them. I just hope people don't expect to resume normal life after just one jab. I think from what Boris said it's going to get worse before it gets better. So many people have died and will continue to die unless everyone does what they're told - sadly I can't see that happening. So many conspiracy theorists who don't believe the virus exists or it's just flu. My sympathies are with the NHS staff who are all working so hard to save lives. Have a good day and stay safe.

After all. Sally, I was going to do jigsaws during the winter but can't get near the dining room table, It's covered in boxes of caravan stuff. Once it's sorted it goes in the car which is almost full up. Once the charity shops open I shall hopefully donate it. I've been putting as much as I can in my wheelie bin but fortnightly collections make it a very slow process.

Hi all, bit late getting on here, been busy making masks as usual and also guardian angel charms.
Our surgery started doing covid vaccinations last Wednesday, my neighbour has had hers tonight at 7.50pm but her son who is her carer hasn't heard anything. Wouldnt you think they'd do them both at the same time. She's 78 with no underlying health issues. I was hoping to get mine about the same time, being diabetic, having high BP and a compromised immune system with my thyroid problem, but not heard anything.
Not good news on telly this evening, now they tell us the new last new variant is more deadly and is causing more deaths than the original virus and subsequent variants. I think there will be stricter rules brought in soon. Couldn't believe it when I heard about that wedding in London, where there were 400 at a wedding reception, all Jewish evidently. You'd think they would have been more sensible.
So sorry to hear about your stepmother has passed away with Covid Starry.
Carol I'll dig the recipes out for you. x
