Morning all
I wonder if there will be many in the shops today Diane? I've still got a mountain of food here even after dividing it in halve between myself and George. Starry you deserve a rest now after all that cooking and hosting all those people over Christmas.
Back to normal again. I've got a teddybear to post this morning that I sold on Ebay on Christmas Day. One of my collectibles, I'd got 2 the same so one had to go. She's Annabelle Dickens from the Dickens collection of Boyds Bears. Dressed in authentic Victorian clothes. I have about 18 Boyds Bears all different and all wear clothings. I have Mrs Mason and Mrs Dixon who are dressed in authentic dresses and hats worn by ladies in the American Civil War, and both bears are named after the wives of the Union and Confederate Generals, Mason and Dixon. I'd like to get my hands on the male versions as they're worth a fortune, but sadly they're very very rare. Mrs Mason & Dixon are quite rare and worth over £100 each. They're lovely things to collect because they gain in value and when I pop my clogs the collection can be sold and money go towards the upkeep of any surviving pets I may have.
The weather's not too bad here, was raining in the night I think, but it's dry now and the wind has dropped to the usual breeze.
Enjoy your day folks!

Afternoon all very tired today did the washing up and had to sit down. Be glad when I go for my blood tests to find out what's causing my problems. I think it is my thyroid, it effects far more than I realised. Also asked for B12 as it runs in my family. He'll probably tell me I'm not a spring chicken anymore!

Good morning everyone. I think its dry outside but cloudy looking. I'm thinking of cleaning the house and taking down the cards and the couple of decorations that are up. Our cleaners aren't coming for a couple of weeks as Christmas and New Years Day are on their cleaning days. Other years they've squeezed people in. This year not.
I think you do need a rest Starry. You've done so much. You must be quite worn out. A lot of preparation as well as the doing.

Good Morning all. A cold damp day here. Back to reality chores to do and Gordon to take home after dinner. I've enjoyed his company but three days is enough. He'll be coming back to see the New Year in. Have a good day all.

I'm feeling very virtuous now. Decorations down. The battery lights are in a heap, flashing away until the batteries go and they can be boxed away. The house is clean, the bathrooms clean, the washing up to date. Now I feel I can really rest and recharge my batteries. I thought I'd never make it this year but I did, survived, still here. I'm going to be very selfish for the next few days and do what suits me so I can fully charge back up.

Good Morning all. A lazy start for me - overslept. No rush to get up and peace and quiet at last. Gordon is a lovely man but needs noise around him keeps the TV on all day. I felt like clocking him last night, he kept whistling as he wiped up. His medication makes him tired so he drifts off during the day but turn the TV off and he's instantly awake! He's hogged the remote all Christmas so if there was anything good on I missed it. I suggested I put a DVD on and that went down like a lead balloon. He's got lots of redeemng features so I shouldn't really moan but little things annoy me. Chores today and washing. Have a good day all.

Good morning everyone!
Blimey you've all taken your decorations down early, I usually take mine down 2nd January, as NY Eve seems nice with them up and sparkly.
Gizmo's developed a really nasty cough, like hooping cough almost, since his trip up the vets before Christmas, I just hope he's not got kennel cough, I don't want Dora catching it. Rang the vet this morning to give an update on him now he's on pain meds but she was seeing another client, so the receptionist will speak to her and ring me after. Hope it's not too late I don't want to be hanging around waiting all day.
It's a lovely day here, blue sky and hardly any breeze, not cold either. Bit like a Spring day really.
I changed my car at the weekend. The Citroen dealer contacted me about their January Sale, so I went to see what they had, they were trying to flog new cars but I can't afford a new one. Even with the huge discounts they were offering. They were selling off the old stock at just above wholesale prices to make room for the new stock so even the demonstrators and used cars were discounted, which was good.
I got quite a good trade in for mine, Cactus don't hold their price very well, mine generated a lot of attention from other customers who were there, so I don't think they'll have any problem selling it on. It's 5yrs old now. It's a big car, and it's not very good on petrol. To be honest I've never been that happy with it. It's a lovely car though. Anyway I got a decent price for mine as I said, and put it towards an ex demonstrator which has just over 1,000 miles on the clock and is just over a year old. I pay the same a month as I pay now, so won't have to struggle. It's a Citroen C1 1.2L Puretech Flair. Top of the range C1, with all the bells and whistles. It's a lovely little car and goes like a rocket! But looks like a roller skate next to my Cactus LOL It's only just over 9ft long the Cactus is about 12ft long. It should be cheaper to run and does about 55mpg round town and 70mpg on a run. So a lot better than the Cactus.
