Starry, I'm sorry to hear this, even though it was expected and considering the wonderful age your mum has reached it is still a shock isn't it. She's done so well to fight this for 6 years, considering her age. Bless her.
It will be a difficult choice for her, where to spend her final days, I expect she'd want to be in her own home, but she will need 24/7 care and living on her own it will be extremely difficult for that to happen, even though you are just across the road, you can't be there all day/night for her. The hospices are wonderful places and there is always someone there, people are never alone. How far is your nearest Hospice? I expect if she decided on a Hospice that depends on if they have a space. I know the hospices here are sadly full and people are having to go either into hospital or stay at home and the hospitals are all chock-a-block nowadays aren't they. I'm not so sure hospital would be a good choice to be honest. They can't give the same level of care as a hospice can.
What an awful time for you all.
My friend Jackie phoned me tonight, she didn't get time to see Suzanne, so phoned her later this afternoon instead. She said Suzanne doesnt realise she's in hospital and kept saying she was at home and there were 12 people around the table all expecting her to feed them. She wouldn't have it that she was actually in hospital. This all reminds me of poor Bernice my late neighbour. Jackie said Clare (Suzanne's daughter) told her on the phone that the consultant they saw said the urine infection has accelerated dementia which Suzanne had already very slightly before this happened.

=16.25pxHello everyone
=16.25pxA very wet foggy day here today
=16.25pxAn early start for Knit and Natter then chair yoga. Then it’s WI ten pin bowling tonight. A bit too much really but it’s how it’s worked out. I’ve cancelled my covid jab for tomorrow as I’m still not 100%.
Sorry about your mum Starry some difficult conversations to be had

It’s good to start to get things clear in your head Starry.
=16.25pxIt’s dry at the moment but very wet weather is sweeping in. I’ve got Crafternoon decorating tote bags this afternoon but it’s too far to walk in the pouring rain so might give it a miss.

Good morning, all. It's a miserable cold day here, so I won't be going out. Once the washing up is done, I will sort out my summer clothes.and put them away. That's my day sorted. Have a good day all.

Evening all.
Sorry I've been missing in action for a week, I had food poisoning and been really really ill. But I'm feeling a lot better now, just totally exhausted. Everything is such an effort from making a cup of tea to just getting up and getting washed and dressed.
I've got some housework to catch up on *sigh*
Received a new pillow today via Amazon, it's a memory foam one with a cool infused cover. Evidently it's brilliant by all the reviews so I'll see how it feels tonight. I'd been waking up with neck pain and a bad back and I'm putting that down to my pillows being clapped out.
As for the XRays the doc said they did show arthritis in both hips but nothing that would have caused the problem I had the other week. So we're both assuming it was a muscle injury, as I first suspected. I can walk on the left leg properly now thank goodness.
I've had the heating on tick over for the last 2 weeks as I've felt cold, I think the wet weather makes you feel more cold for some reason. Thank goodness for the air source heat pump system.

Good morning everyone.
Its dry but very dark, cloudy and cold.
I'm planning on some housework but not sure how far I will get. I've got my covid jab tomorrow but I'm still not feeling right so will wait till tomorrow to decide whether to go or cancel again.
Was it food poisoning or a bug Hazel. My sister has been very ill with severe vomiting recently. Hope you feel better soon

Hi all.
It was definitely food poisoning, it was a prawn sandwich I had at Par Garden Centre. Only now starting to eat proper food again as I've been on bland food for days now.
I didn't have any vomiting or stomach pains, didn't feel sick but had explosive diahorrea for 5 hours non stop and then no more, but had the terrible headache for almost a week and felt totally wiped out.
Yes Diane there are some terrible bugs going around at the moment. Thankfully I've avoided them so far.
Went to Treliske today to visit Suzanne who'd had a stroke on the same day I got food poisoning, and in the same place. That place must be cursed lol They have assessed her and want to send her to Liskeard for rehab but her daughter is convinced she can cope if she can go home but there's no way she'll be able to as she'd have to move in with her mother, but I don't think her partner and 2 sons would appreciate that much. She'd' be much better off at Liskeard Hospital. The problem is the stroke has accelerated her dementia. She seemed quite lucid today and there were just a few times she said something that made you realise she was in la la land. So her daughter assumes she's well enough to go home because some of the time she is lucid.
