Re: Good Morning

Evening all Not been feeling too good today been coughing a lot and am very snuffly. I think it's my allergies but must admit I'm a bit concerned as my lungs can't expand very much at all.  A friend of mine from another site has been admitted to hospital in London with breathing problems. Worrying times for us all.

Re: Good Morning

Good morning everyone.

Its another bright day here. Not sure if its warm enough to sit out and relax in the garden or not. I've got some washing to do and then our walk. I might start a new blanket ????

When is the baby due Starry? I'm losing the plot with dates and things that happened before!

Re: Good Morning

Good Morning all. feeling a bit brighter this morning. I used my spray last night and although it doesn't do much it was a help last night.  It's bitterly cold here and the heating came on last night.  The lovely Sally did my shopping for me at ASDA yesterday. They only let a few people in and were observing strict spacing. The shelves were full. She got everything except some toffees that I fancied.  It's nice to have a treat now and then but don't need then.  Finding it hard to motivate myself today, but needs must. Have a good day all and stay safe.

Re: Good Morning

Good morning ladies.

Another beautiful day here again but it's quite chilly overnight.  Glad to hear you're feeling a bit brighter today Carol, keep warm.

My asda shop is due Saturday, and I'm wondering if I will get everything as I've not been lucky with the last one. I haven't been able to get kitchen roll for weeks and I use that a lot, so am having to use my toilet rolls so now I'm getting really low on those now. I've booked another asda delivery for 14th which I'm putting things on that don't arrive with previous orders so hopefully I'll get some then. Otherwise I'll be out of toilet rolls. I usually use two rolls a week but now I'm using 4 a week.

My doc rang me yesterday as she'd received a request from Pharmacy2U for my prescription, it's not due for 2 weeks but they are requesting earlier now to give a buffer for the delays in delivery with Royal Mail. So she wasn't aware of that. We had a good long chat about procedures and told me to go to the surgery website to submit my BP readings once a week but regular diabetes checks and eye checks for glaucoma won't be done. She is the best doctor at my surgery and the one that actually sorted out my bp meds so I have total confidence in her, which is comforting.

She said in Cornwall we are about 2-3 weeks behind London with the virus, and that all the visitors that came down last weekend boosted our numbers up considerably as we had been below average until then. The police are making announcements on tv for people not to come here as they won't be welcome, but I've not seen any announcements to be honest. They need to put it out on facebook and twitter so everyone nationally can see it. I heard from my friend in Scotland yesterday that a couple she knows in Wales were amongst those that came down here for a week. I told her they were very irresponsible and helped boost our virus numbers and she agreed but said 'they're like that, don't care about anyone else.' Shocking.

Well must feed the dogs and decide what to do to keep myself occupied. I had cancelled my pogo.com subscription so it ended on 7 March but last night I reactivated it again. Its £12.99 a month but worth it as there's hundreds of different games on there, and theres a little chat window on all the games so you can if you want to chat to other players. It's been great at the moment with self isolation, and the members come from all over the world so it's interesting to hear whats going on in other countries.

Take care everyone, keep safe. xxx

Re: Good Morning

Good morning everyone and PINCH PUNCH FIRST OF THE MONTH

Its bright here but the wind still feels chilly.

I've got my online shopping delivery from Sainsburys arriving this afternoon. I don't feel its a proper shop, like walking round and seeing things in a particular order in my regular shop. I know all will be well with the world when I can do that again and grab a 24 pack of toilet rolls Cushelle from Lidl!!

You'll be looking forward to the baby's arrival Starry ... as long as you can have a cuddle.

I had an Asda shop delivery for tomorrow Hazel. But every time I went in to add something they had taken off loads until it was virtually empty basket. They took off all the basic ages ago ... milk etc. I couldn't believe they would empty my basket when they should have had fresh supplies in. In the end I cancelled the order and stuck with Sainsburys

Re: Good Morning

Good afternoon all it's a lovely sunny day here but very cold.  Feeling much better today although the headache is still with me. Gordon slept most of the morning and bless him he's back in the land of nod already. I'm enjoying the peace and quiet., Trying to work up some enthusiasm to put a pile of washing away.  Just had a phone call from the Cinnamon Trust checking on Brodie who is doing very well on his medication. The office staff are now working from home and are still there for us. It was nice to have a chat. Hope we're all staying as safe as possible.

Re: Good Morning

Good morning ladies

Diane I found with Asda it's best to get everything you can think of on the order, and put several of the same thing but different brands to get around the 3 items only rule plus if one brand is out of stock you can still get the other, and finally once everything is on your order and you check out LEAVE IT don't go back to add anything cos its when you do that they take stuff off. If you remember anything you forgot to put on, pick another delivery date and bung it on there. And to save that second date sling anything in the basket that comes to £40 then nearer the date for that delivery do your normal shop and remove all the stuff you slung in there to hold the delivery slot.

Gotta get wise to how they work and then you can get around their rules. Now though they're only putting 3 days up at a time, and you can't book any dates after that, so thats a bit of a bummer.

I wish I hadn't cancelled that ultrasound last month, cos now it's playing up again and I don't really want to go anywhere near a hospital right now. Although I suppose now would be better than later as the number of cases seem to be going up very fast, when I last looked Cornwall had about 150 but I expect it's more now.

I'm only watching the news once a day, and sometimes not even that often, as it's too depressing and easy to slide into a panic or anxiety attack. If anything urgent happens one or two of my twitter friends will let me know.

My blackcurrant bushes, jostaberries and tayberry arrived yesterday at 7pm. The blackcurrant bushes are huge!!! They're also bare rooted so will have to plant those today.  My potatoes that I'm chitting outside in a frost free area haven't sprouted shoots yet. Maybe it's still a bit cold for them. The ones indoors I'm supposed to be eating have got sprouts coming, so maybe I should use those too LOL

Re: Good Morning

Good morning everyone.

Its bright outside but not sure if its warm enough to sit outside and chill.

I've just woken up after a wakeful phase in the night (normal for me now) but I suppose because it was so quiet I just slept on.

I just received notification that my click and collect order will be ready to collect. The order that has nothing in the basket!!! I've just sent an e-mail to Asda.  When these online shops go wrong they go wrong spectacularly.

Re: Good Morning

Good afternoon all. Had a phone call from my 90-year-old neighbour to let me know that everyone is going to be at their front door banging on saucepans with a wooden spoon supporting our medics at 8 pm we will both be there. just outside the door.  We have three in the close.  Bless her she offered to get me any shopping that we need. She used to be a nurse on a chest ward and suggested some exercises that I could do to improve my breathing. I sat on the loo and did them and like magic, there was a slight improvement. I've been doing it all morning I can now take a deeper breath and am now able to hold my breath for a while. The only downside is that my sternum is painful as I expand my chest muscles. No doubt it will get used to it. Hope everyone is well. My friend who is still in hospital has left ICU and is now on an ordinary ward. She only needs oxygen when she tries to walk. Each day she is getting stronger and is looking to be released soon.  Take care all and stay safe.
