Re: Good Morning

Good afternoon everyone. Very windy here, and it's a bitter cold wind too, but the sky is blue and the sun's out, so mustn't grumble.

I think the news last night about the lockdown was very confusing and downright irresponsible and stupid. Allowing people to travel anywhere to exercise, and more often means they'll all be flocking to the beaches and other counties. So Cornwall and Cumbria and other seaside places are going to get crowds and hardly anyone keeps to the social distancing regulations.

They said they wouldnt change anything until all 5 of their criteria were met, and we've not met any of them yet, so what the hell are they thinking? Another blunder by the Govt. Stand by for the second wave, and I fear it will be much worse than the first.

England is the laughing stock of the world. Italy and other European countries are looking at us as if we're mad, congregating in large numbers, easing lockdown restrictions too soon, going back to work.

i'm carrying on as normal, staying home and the only time I"ll be out is if I have to go in an ambulance to hospital as an emergency or to the doctors for an annual review.

Keep safe everyone.

Re: Good Morning

Good afternoon all.  The sun is playing peek a boo with us and it's feeling somewhat chilly in the strong wind.  We didn't clip Brodie yesterday his coat was too oily and the Clippers couldn't cope,  we bathed him he was very good. We will be clipping him tomorrow as his coat is now soft and silky and a lot of the fur fell out. A bit apprehensive but it will get done.  I've got my weekly shopping being delivered this afternoon plus Sally is collecting my medication.  She couldn't get all I wanted so is going to pop into our local co-op on the way to us. I'm all set up and ready to bleach all viruses and bacteria into oblivion. I see that from Wednesday people can travel to beaches etc. We may if let go down and collect a few things from the van as I need like some summer clothes. We will be avoiding everyone as we don't want any bugs. Just grab a few bags and go straight home. Fingers crossed if not I shall be living in my nighties,

Re: Good Morning

Good morning all a lovely sunny day here but very chilly. We didn't quite manage to bleach everything yesterday so still have a bit of work to do.  If my back is OK we will start to clip Brodie, quite how far we will get is anyone's guess but we will have to stop if he gets stroppy. Have a good day all.

Re: Good Morning

Good Morning all It's a very chilly start here, the sun is behind the clouds. His nibs is still asleep so Brodie and I have got peace. Once he's awake it's TV on and noise, lots of monster sneezes and very loud yawns.  He sits in his PJ's in front of the TV all morning watching mindless drivel. Only stirring when I finish washing the dishes and I tell him it's wiping up time. Hazel, I also have concerns about the lifting of lockdown and like you think the 2nd wave will be worse than the first.  I currently go out once a month to collect Brodie's medication and that is it.  Apart from a few irritations, I'm enjoying lockdown.  Have a good day all.

Re: Good Morning

Good afternoon ladies.
Another lovely day here. I was busy yesterday planting an evergreen winter flowering clematis out the front, and this morning fixed up a trellis out front on the porch and stood a large pot there with a beautiful clematis there to climb up it. It's a summer flowering one, I'm not sure how well it will do there, it never gets the sun but gets plenty of light, and there's always a strong breeze blowing. If it starts to struggle I'll move it to a more sheltered spot out the back.

Happy Birthday to your mum Starry, thats a great age! Sounds like her birthday will be amazing.

Cornwall is bracing itself for the onslaught this weekend, tourists. There are already hundreds here from last weekend, goodness knows where they're staying as all the guesthouses and hotels are supposed to be closed as are the caravan sites. So our numbers of virus cases will be sky high in 3 weeks time.

I think easing lockdown and not enough clarity was way too soon and a huge mistake. And the announcement Boris made on Sunday was totally misleading, confusing and reckless. He made me so angry!

I did the Twitter service yesterday afternoon for my friend in Scotland, there were more attended than I thought there would be. At her actual funeral yesterday there were only 8 people including her partner Tom. Seems really strange she's not here anymore. I'm so glad I didn't move to Scotland now,

Re: Good Morning

Good morning everyone.

Its a bright, chilly day here.

I've got some washing and a Morrisons Delivery later this afternoon.  We'll fit a walk in somewhere. Paul was saying he was coming over to join us, social distancing, but then he had some work come in to do today, so it could be another day now. The Memory Cafe has a Zoom meeting for carers  this afternoon, so not sure whether I can fit that in or not. The last one was a complete disaster as someone had two connections open so you could hear yourself talk and the whole time was spent trying to sort it. Its been found out what to do should that happen again, but I'm in no rush to dash back in. I'm actually not wanting to talk to anyone now either.

Sounds like your Mum had a lovely birthday yesterday Starry. Good news about getting someone to do her garden too.

Re: Good Morning

Good afternoon all. quite cold here today. Not a good day for me I was on my feet for 3 1/2 hours yesterday and am paying for what for me was a marathon.  I'm taking it easy and so is his nibs. He's done little all morning. I've left the washing up for him to do no sign that he's even noticed it!  He has now made lunch and has picked up his book so that's the rest of the afternoon gone.  He'll be cooking dinner as well tonight. He's very kind but just doesn't do housework. At the moment I can't so it will get left. Stay safe everyone. The caravan site is closed whilst Nick waits for guidance, looks like I'll be wearing nighties all summer.  I have bought some new T-shirts which were too small and they only sent half of them. They've been returned and I still awaiting the larger size and the correct quantity.  I ordered some culottes they sent the wrong size. The label says 24 - 26 which would be way too big,  I would guess they'd fit 12 - 14  so no good for me. They've been sent back! I've ordered some skirts and shorts from another company which have yet to be sent. So not doing too well on the clothes front.
