Re: Good Morning

Good evening ladies.

It's turned a lot cooler now, but was really really hot all day, too hot to be outdoors. There's been hundreds of tourists here this week, and more still coming. I was going to go out in the car with the dogs and have an 'in car' picnic, but everywhere I would usually go is packed with people from out of county and they're not practising social distancing. It's so annoying. We've been so good down here staying at home and doing what we're told and just when we could go out if we wanted we can't because the area's flooded with people from up country. And they're not going home every evening either. I don't know how the police can prove that, or do anything if they don't go home. Boris has made a proper cockup with this. This country has managed the crisis worse than any other.

They should stop people travelling out of their own area with a fixed radius, like 25 miles or something.

Re: Good Morning

Good morning everyone.

Its dry here but cloudy with some dark clouds looking threatening, and very windy.

Paul is coming over today with our bits and will go for a walk with us if its dry.

It is a shame they didn't do a fixed radius. People seem to be travelling quite a way....

Re: Good Morning

Good Morning all, not a very nice day so far we have a strong wind worst than yesterday's. Yesterday we had a monthly journey to the vet's to pick up Brodie's meds, on the way home we went down to the beach.  Needless to say, all the free parking spots had gone, no idea where the car drivers were. Not many people around a few walking along the prom some observing the safe distance some not. Eventually, we found a spot to park and it was lovely just sitting looking at the waves and people watching. As we drove home we saw an ice cream kiosk with a queue, Gordon would have liked one but I reminded him we had Magnums in the freezer. By the time we got home all we both wanted was a cuppa and our lunch. It was lovely to see the sea, I've really missed it.
Sally, I'm so sorry to hear that your eldest daughter has had COVID, must have been very worrying for you all. Even mildly it really takes it out of you. Glad she on the road to recovery.

The site seems to be back to normal thank goodness! It was so frustrating last night!   Have a good day all and stay safe.

Re: Good Morning

Good afternoon ladies. Blustery here today again and not very warm.

I have no idea what was wrong with the site yesterday, it was ok for me in the morning but i wasnt on here in the evening, it's all out of my control now it's a free forum we're using so I can't do anything about it I'm afraid. I would guess that it's due to more people being online generally now due to being in lockdown.

Starry so sorry to hear your eldest has Covid. But pleased she's not too bad with it and is getting better.

I received my 'new to me' watch yesterday, and I'm over the moon with it. It's only 6mths old, cost £245 (receipt was in the box) and I only paid £40 for it. Bargain!!! It's a Citizen Eco Drive, and charges itself up by sunlight and artificial light, so never needs batteries which is a relief. It seems to be keeping brilliant time. Its the best watch I've ever had lol

I've done 2 loads of washing and got them dry in the drier, and that's about all I'm doing today, I've got very lazy lately.

Met about 10 Twitter pals last night on Zoom, from all over the world, with their pets. It was the first video meeting I've done, first video anything really. But it was so easy and was super to laugh and joke with people. Much better than Skype ever was.  Trouble is most people use Skype as Zoom is pretty new. I hate Skype personally, its not user friendly at all.

Time for lunch, so going to slap something in a sarni and make myself a caramel latte, then amend my Asda order that's coming tomorrow. I have a recurring slot, so get a delivery every 2 weeks. So if I forget something or don't notice I'm low on anything I'm stuffed then for another 2 weeks, but it works out cheaper than spending £40 a week to get the free delivery. I still get free delivery with the recurring slot but as its for 2 weeks it seems to make a difference, as when you divide what you've bought by 2 I'm averaging about £35 a week in shopping, which is great.

Enjoy your day ladies!

Re: Good Morning

Good morning everyone.

Its dry but cloudy and we''ve still got a bit of wind, but it seems to have dropped since yesterday.

I'll be weighing in today then making some saffron buns. I've got the in date yeast, saffron and strong white flour .... so should make a difference.... Time will    tell.

Re: Good Morning

Good Morning all, a lovely sunny day here but still very windy. We had some rain yesterday which lashed down, everything smelt so fresh and the garden needed it. The forecast for the next five days is hot so someone's happy. I hate the heat so am not looking forward to it. It will be windows opened wide whilst I sit in the cool and read my book. Sally, I can understand your concerns as to the diagnosis of COVID. It would be a good idea to get tested if she hasn't had the virus then further investigation should be necessary.Stay safe and well all.

Re: Good Morning

Afternoon ladies, its boiling hot here, the sun is in the back garden all day long from sunrise to sunset, so it's pretty relentless heat. I opened the windows and doors early then closed them again about 9am to keep the hot air out and the cool air in. Now it's lovely and cool ondoors. I stepped out into the garden to feed the birds again and it was like walking into an oven.

Carol, you're supposed to open windows early morning, close by 10am at the latest, then leave closed all day to keep the hot air out and cool air in. My friend in Spain many years ago told me that's what they do over there, and it really does work.

I had my Asda order this morning, didnt get the loose new potatoes I'd ordered. I have tons of mint in the garden and no potatoes to use it with. I was really looking forward to them tonight with dinner. pfft... I sent George a txt asking if he could get me some and some self raising flour when he goes shopping again and he's not going til Tuesday but said he'd try and get some and also some SR Flour. He's not very helpful at times but never mind. I did get 2 bags of plain flour today and I already had baking powder in so the flour's not urgent really.

Fed the worms this morning, I feed them once a week, they have almost finished the first level of compost, so next week I'll feed them in the next tray up. So far I've harvested 3pts of worm tea. There was a lot in the bottom of the wormery this morning. You have to dilute it 10 parts water 1 part worm tea. So I did that and fed all the veggies and plants in the garden.

Not sure what I'm going to do today, life's thrilling isnt it lol

Sally kidney problems has been well known with Covid from the beginning, mainly kidney failure and damage, so maybe the doctor was referring to that? If people get Covid very bad it causes damage to all major organs.
