Re: Good Morning

Afternoon ladies.
Lovely hot day again here, and I"m stuck in sewing masks, but it's the last order for awhile, apart from one for 2 little 4yr olds.

The housing officer came this morning, and I signed the new tenancy agreement, it's a lifetime one so that's good. She said they had to halt the eviction process at lockdown but they are restarting it now to get shot of the tenant next door, she's still in Poland, if she's alive, and it'll be 2yrs in September since she left last time.

I'm looking online for a new lounge ceiling light, will have alook at Dunelm they have a showroom in Truro so will look online first before I go downthere.

Re: Good Morning

Oooh I'll have a look on John Lewis, I've bought from their online shop before. Thanks Starry.

Well its been showery today, after the last few days of hot dry weather. I was going to water my containers with my veg in last night but didnt get time, as I had a mask order to complete, just as well as the rains much better for them.

Just going to watch some telly now, not seen any for weeks as I've been too busy. I miss Eastenders, I see they've been showing really old episodes once a week, can't see the point in that.

Hope your washing machine arrived Diane, where did you get it ao.com?

Starry bet it was nice to catch up with your eldest daughter.

Enjoy your evening ladies, and keep safe!

Re: Good Morning

Good morning everyone.

Its dry at the moment, but been drizzling.

Wow Starry. Freddie is 6 weeks already. Pippa will be pleased she can drive.

The washing machine did arrive nice and early and Paul installed it for us. I got it from Woolacotts Hazel. I did look at AO but sometimes Woolacotts are just as competitive, and local, of course.

I'm looking at tvs now ... and both their prices for the model are the same.

Re: Good Morning

Good  afternoon all, it started off sunny and has now clouded over. After yesterdays successful sort out of two boxes that came from storage I have found my lost cookery and tailoring books - treasures indeed! They are now sorted out and back in my book cupboard where they belong.  I've also found new bits and bobs for the bath room so I've now got an updated bathroom.  I'm going to do another box this afternoon wonder what is in this one?  Trash or treasure?

Update, it was mainly junk that I'd already sorted and thought it had been got rid of  I'll be waving goodbye to it shortly.

Re: Good Morning

Evening all, what a dismal day it's been, raining all day. pfft...

Diane I've bought quite a few things from Wollacotts in the past they're brilliant. They have very good after sales customer support too.

I only had 2 masks ordered yesterday so did those and posted them off last night, and not had anymore orders today but I've a feeling there will be some more come in soon.

Watching the news tonight, first time for weeks, I noticed a lot of people weren't wearing their masks properly, and one girl had hers on upside down  The local news had some local students on who paint masks and sell them in Plymouth I think. I noted that none of them were up to specification, so a total waste of money.

Some of my birds have come back after the sparrow hawk attack, the rest must have been killed poor things.

Carol what a disappointment with that box you opened up. But great news you discovered those books again.

I asked in one of the forums which washing machine they all used and they varied from basic to expensive ... and someone said their engineer told them when he was fixing their machine next time to get a Hoover. I thought between basic and expensive and decided to go with Hoover.

Re: Good Morning

Afternoon ladies.

Diane, most of the brands are all owned by the same companies, Hoover, Whirlpool, Indesit and Hotpoint are all one company, so their machines are all the same. My last one was a Whirlpool and was dreadful, had the engineer out almost every month. After 2 yrs I decided to get shot of it. The insurance would only pay out if I got the same machine again, so I had to buy a new one. I got a Samsung EcoBubble Addme, with the extra little door in the door to sling in anything you might have forgotten. The main reason I chose Samsung was the 10yr guarantee and the AAA rating. My fridge freezer is Samsung too with 10yr warranty.

I'm having a relaxing day today, got some orders for masks in but can do those on Monday. The weather's brightened up a bit and the sun's out.

AND.....

there's a hire transit van next door and the Polish woman's daughter and SIL are there moving her stuff out.

Re: Good Morning

Good evening everyone wherever you are

Been a horrible day today more like November than July with rain and strong winds. Had a fairly easy going day today for a change.
Next door's daughter and SIL came again today and took more stuff away including the outdoor satellite dish from the back wall, thank goodness. Its not like our satellite dishes, it was white with NCR in big black letters on the dish. It was pointed towards the satellite that shows european programmes as she couldnt speak or understand english so used to watch polish tv all day when she was there.  A proper eyesore. Now there's just a pole left sticking up.

There was hell up in the back garden this afternoon about 6pm, the crows were make a racket and when I went out the damn sparrow hawk had a pigeon in its talons on the lawn under one of the apple trees. I rushed over and it flew off and the stunned pigeon tried to get into the border but got tangled up in the honeysuckle and I was able to catch it in a towel and brought it indoors and rang Fiona the vet straight away. Shirley the receptionist said not to bring it up now as it was in shock and would probably die with a car journey ontop of what it had gone through, so I've put it in a box with some food and water and will check if its still alive in the morning and if so take it up the vets then. There's a huge amount of feathers been pulled out by the sparrow hawk all over the lawn and just now it managed to get out of the box and was perched on the edge (in the bathroom where its quiet and safe). I managed to catch it again and put it back in the box with a big stone ontop so it couldnt lift the lid again. So it can't be too badly injured thank goodness, I think I must have caught it just in time before the hawk ripped its chest open. There is some blood on its neck but not as bad as it could have been.

Hope you're all good.
Stay safe
xxx
