Re: Good Morning

Good morning everyone.

Its dry here but looking cloudy outside.

I'm just looking for a dry enough possibility to get into town to look at the tv. Yesterday there were dry spells then it rained heavily for a while, so stuck indoors.

Oh hell ... its just started raining.

Re: Good Morning

Afternoon all, been a lovely sunny day here.

Had to take the pigeon to the vet this morning, she's glued it's throat, as the tear from the hawks beak had made a 1" rip and the windpipe was exposed, given it antibiotics and painkillers too. I've made a makeshift cage for it from a dog crate, and it will have to stay there for at least a month as it's lost so many feathers ripped out by the hawk. Then in about 5 weeks I'll see if it can fly and if so release it. The other half of the pair has been in the hedge calling since the hawk attack, it's pitiful to hear, he's so distraught. Hopefully if the attack hasn't damaged her vocal chords when she feels better she may be able to answer him so he knows she's safe. I'm petrified the hawk will get him next. I've put a scarecrow up now to try and stop the hawk coming.

So that was my day, I should have been making masks for orders, but they can wait til tmorrow.

Been a lovely day here all day, sunny and hot so thats one good thing.

Keep safe ladies xxx

Re: Good Morning

Afternoon ladies, its been a stonking day here, both garden thermometers registered 26C this afternoon!
Havent done much today, I should have as I have a few orders to clear but couldn't get motivated for some reason.

CAROL have you opened the masks yet and tried them on? It must be 2 weeks now since I sent them off.

The pigeon is doing well, she spends most of her time sat on the shelf in the dog crate. She's quite lively when I open the door to put food in or change her water. She couldnt fly away if she did dodge past my arm she would only drop to the floor, but I don't want her to injure herself anymore than she already is. The rest of the family have taken up residence in the hedge at the bottom of the garden. The scarecrow I put up to scare the sparrow hawk doesnt seem to have an effect on them or the little birds, and I've not seen the hawk since I put it out.

Well thats about all my thrilling news for today lol Enjoy your evening ladies. xxx

Re: Good Morning

Evening all, not been around much lately being working on a project. Yes the masks did arrive I'm very pleased with mine Hazel it's a good fit. I will be ordering another two for me. Gordon put his on upside down said it didn't fit. Once he put it on the right way it fitted fine. God only knows what he's done with it. He's very absent minded these days. His brain damage seems to be affecting him more as he ages. No doubt he'll find it soon in a safe place.  We've ordered some facial  guards to wear in conjunction with our masks useful If we have to go the Doctors or hospital by taxi. I've seen several people wearing them as they wait for buses. It's been  very hot here today but this afternoon it clouded over and the wind got up. It's still 26 degrees in here so it will be another hot sticky night again. Oh joy!

Re: Good Morning

Good mornin all

Starry that hairdresser sounds a little gem! Once you find a good one it's like winning the lottery! What style is it Starry? Any pics? Enjoy your day in Wiltshire, it'll be great to meet them all in person.

I havent had mine cut since just before Xmas, and was due a cut as the virus kicked up, so was a bit nervous about going, in the end had to cut it myself last month (a graduated bob) but watched some youTube videos and it came out brilliant, almost as good as when it's done professionally, but not qutie.

Carol sorry to hear Gordon's going downhill gradually mentally. Glad the masks fit, they seem to fit everyone regardless of their face size, and the mens are  a bit bigger as they mostly have larger faces. When I get time inbetween orders I'll be making some oil cloth wallets to put them in, I have the fabric but not the time at the moment.

I'm phoning my doctor today as my gall bladder has been playing up and I've tried to cope with it, but its getting worse. At least I think its the gall bladder. I want to make the appointment for the scan again for that lump in my side (same side and area as gall bladder). I cancelled it in March/April as I was frightened to go to the hospital with the virus about. I'm not sure if the surgery is accepting calls on Saturdays, they don't seem to be doing much at all since lockdown, they seem frightened of catching the virus. A friend of mine who is a nurse and works on the covid ward at her local hospital said I shouldn't let the surgery intimidate me and to stand my ground, she said a lot of GP's are not seeing to regular patients but putting suspected covid ones first and it makes her angry. So wish me luck!

Enjoy your day all, weathers not good for outside here today so will be either masking or surfing. xxx

Re: Good Morning

Good morning everyone.

Its wet / dry / wet ... day here today. I got up earlier and it was lovely and sunny but the sky was very black and I couldn't tell which direction it was coming in. The garden is very wet.

So ... not sure what we will be doing today (or not)

Re: Good Morning

Good afternoon all,  a mixed bag weatherwise here. It was overcast first thing then we had rain followed by sunshine. Thankfully we still have a brisk gusty day here which  is cooling things down. We're having yet another lazy day. Stay safe all.

Re: Good Morning

You've had a busy few days then Starry.  This world we live in now is certainly weird. Not being able to touch or be close to those we love. And now with new outbreaks and the R number well over 1.0 goodness knows when it's all going to end, if ever.  Is Pippa doing anything for her brithday?

My friend in Melbourne had just started working again, she has her own dog grooming business, she was tested for Covid last week as she had a lot of symptoms, but thankfully she was negative. She has a little girl of 7 and a husband. I'm not sure if he has to stay home now, as Melbourne is in lockdown again, I suppose he is.

I blame all the idiots that refuse to wear a mask or social distance, so many thick people think its a hoax and fake news or the governments of the world trying to suppress them and take away their rights. I saw a video on Twitter that someone took of a woman in America spitting and coughing in the face of a couple, the husband told her he would contact the police and she'd be arrested but she just gave them more abuse, it was disgusting. This virus has certainly split the world populations into 2 groups, the compassionate thoughtful humane ones and the selfish twisted uncaring mindless thick morons who think they're invincible and the world owes them a living.

Better get off me soap box lol
