Re: Good Morning

Morning all

OMG Starry that evil woman! If I were her boss I'd have sacked her not suspended her. What an evil nasty thoughtless thing to say.  Well done on cutting  your fringe, to be honest cutting hair isn't that hard once you try it, and practice makes perfect.

We have wall to wall sunshine here, I've been up since 6, cleaned out the pigeon's crate and disinfected it and folded it up, watered all the containers and tomatoes/cucumber plants, washed the wet room floor and cleaned it out ready for the plumber, cleared under the sink so he can turn the water off. Washed my hair, and now sat taking it easy for 5 mins before I start again.

I had to ring Sanctuary last night I couldn't stand the water running from the cistern into the bowl it was like Niagra Falls, it had kept me awake the night before, they only come out for emergencies now and if its not an emergency they charge you £200. So I exaggerated what was wrong and the plumber is coming sometime today. I'll have a word with him, the workmen are usually pretty good. Its a push button toilet and this is about the 4th time it's gone wrong. They're useless, the old chains were much more reliable. I had a look myself yesterday but it hasn't got a normal ball cock, its all sealed and got little thin pipes and tubes going everywhere. Another useless modern invention.

Enjoy your day ladies and enjoy the sunshine, I think it's going to change yet again after the w/end if not before.

NOTE: Well the plumbers put a complete new gubbins in the cistern and it's working perfectly and the hospital has phone to give me my date for the abdominal ultrasound (I cancelled it in March cos of the virus). So I have to go now on friday 21st August at 2.50pm. Hopefully they'll find out whats causing all my problems. Or some of them lol

Re: Good Morning

Good afternoon all, we've been busy popping back and forth to the caravan. The fridge freezer is full and the beds are made.  The barrier still isn't finished but just a small section to go. We were going down today but Gordon was poorly last night and missed the loo although he cleaned up it wasn't good enough, He had sprayed half a can of Dettol air freshener as it's supposed to kill all germs.   Unfortunately the spray has an overpowering smell which makes me feel sick. I went into the bathroom to clean it and started me heaving.  I got the carpet shampoo out and supplied him with rags and bag to dispose of the mess.  It looks and smells a lot better but it's left stains on the carpet. He'll give it another go and if that doesn't work the carpet will be on it's way to the tip. I shall probably replace it with some cushionlay floor covering. Gordon's just announced he's going back into the bathroom to do the carpet.

Re: Good Morning

Good afternoon both.

Was a nice morning and i went around and watered the tomatoes and other veggies before Larry started his shift midday, the sun was really hot on my back. Then at 12.30 the heavens opened to torrential rain, so I switched Larry off and he's back in his shelter now. He can mow in the rain but he gets very messy underneath. I've had dozens of mini muncher cucumbers, they're fat and about 4" long, so I'm going to try pickling them. I just need some jars lol

Oh dear Carol, poor Gordon, there's nothing worse than missing the toilet and having all that mess and smell, I had that when my brother stayed with me just before he went to the nursing home. It's not nice. I didn't think  you were going to the caravan this year Carol?

What a lovely surprise for Pippa, Starry. I bet Freddie will look cute in his little life jacket. They make them for dogs too. Several of my friends have them for their dogs when they're out on their boats or near the water.

I've got the date for my ultrasound again, 21st August at 2.50pm so I won't cancel this one. I'm a bit apprehensive incase it shows something nasty, but best to get sorted now rather than wait.

I hope Diane is ok, not seen her for a few days. I expect she's busy.

Take care and stay safe everyone.

xxx

Re: Good Morning

Hello everyone.

What a wet day its turned out to be.

Just finished the housework. I'm hoping the cleaners fully start back soon. They've started their houses which they clean when empty, but staying away from ones with folk in at the moment.

We had some good news at the weekend when our son Paul came round with Hannah to say they are getting married. No plans or dates yet. I don't envy them trying to sort these things out in these times.

Hope Gordon is feeling better and no more accidents. They are the worst.

Re: Good Morning

Yes it wasn't very pleasant, I thinl it was more the smell of the dettol air freshener that I objected too. The carpet has been shampooed and everything smells fresh and it's been cleaned. I've just got to do one small area That Gordon didn't need to clean. It will take about 5 minutes.
We're going down to the van for just for a few days as and when.  I've more to less made the decision to give it up It's getting too expensive and the site has changed it's full of newcomers who are not friendly. All our friends have left the site now except two and they don't come down very often, they prefer to come down in the winter when the site is empty and the village is quiet. Good luck with your ultra sound  Hazel.

Re: Good Morning

Starry we're just staying for odd days here and there, may stay more in September but planning to give it up. It's getting too expensive and we're both finding life a bit more of a struggle.  How are you and Paul these days?

Re: Good Morning

Good morning everyone.

It is very foggy outside but I can see beams of sun pushing through.

I've got my food deliveries and some other deliveries too I think. I'm trying a new greengrocer so will be interested to see how much they are and what the quality is like.

I'm also thinking of doing our hair cuts too . I was toying with trying to get in at the hairdressers too ????  Decisions decisions. Think I've made            it - I've got the clippers out

Re: Good Morning

Good morning ladies. Same weather here as you Diane, for a change. It's very muggy though isnt it.

I think thats a good idea to let the caravan go Carol, it's too much now for you both, as you get older even short journeys seem a struggle, and it's an awful lot of work for you moving things back and forth. What a shame the newcomers aren't friendly, but I'm afraid that's happening here where I live, As tenants move away or die and new ones come in they don't mix. Mind you residents never have here, I only know my 2 immediate neighbours. They have a small seated area in the middle with nice plants all around but no-one has ever used it since the places were built in 2014. It would be better turned into parking bays because visitors have to struggle to park here.

I had an order in last night for 6 masks, so thats my day sorted. I made a storage pouch yesterday from oil cloth and polycotton for a mask and it turned out very well, a 5 sided shape with a popper clasp.  I showed a friend on Twitter and she said she wants 2 with masks to give as xmas presents, so thats a good sign. Most people just shove their masks in their bags or pockets, and that's not really hygienic.

Good luck with the hair clipping Diane, it's pretty easy. I prefer scissors as one slip with clippers and it can be a disaster whereas with scissors a little mistake doesn't show much.

Re: Good Morning

Evening all, a long hot day thankfully it clouded over this afternoon and a breeze came up and cooled it down a bit.  Gordon put weed killer down in the front garden or should I say the front jungle fingers crossed it works. Had no luck getting a gardener so far. I might have to get a company in to blitz it all.

Sally I'd love to buy a place in the village, but I'd need to win the lottery.
